A story which will stick with you
Having read several post-apocalyptic stories, suspension of disbelief can be a problem. Not here. Perhaps because, as a short story (novella), the author chose not to go on long excursions of explanations of what had happened to cause the downfall of society. Perhaps too, being familiar with the geography of the setting, nothing red-flagged me as bogus to pull me from the story.
The characters are richly portrayed, the story well done. This is a very good listen.
