Publisher's summary

Mimi Finnegan is back and funnier than ever!

Mimi has it all. She's marrying the love of her life, about to have his baby, and is moving into the house of her dreams.

Things couldn't be better! Until her wedding, that is, when everyone toasts to her perfect life.

Not one to tempt the fates, Mimi is sure her loved ones are jinxing her future happiness. Enter pregnancy drama, aristocratic in-laws, and catastrophic postpartum depression. Mimi's journey is hilarious, heart-warming, and borderline insane. Hormonal hell leaves her questioning her husband's origins, prepping for the end of the world, and wondering if her sanity will ever return.

This book is for every woman who understands that love, laughter, and tears are the very foundation of being a wife, mother, and daughter-in-law.

Didn't Want it to

I love Mimi and all of her friends and family so much. She made me laugh outloud so many times. 'Billy, don't be a hero.' 😂 And I bawled through the wedding. I hope the next one comes out soon!

Hilarious and heartwarming. A must read!!

This series of two books is by far two of the best books I’ve come across in quite some time. The main character is one to truly love and root for throughout. She is quirky, fun and lovable. The other supporting characters are just as good and round the novel out well. Not only do we get to dive into motherhood and combining families but we also take a look at the mindset of the overly paranoid dooms day planner with a twist. This is the ultimate chick-lit read filled with humor, love, and even a little reality and heartache. I’d highly recommend this book and the series as a whole for anyone wanting a good laugh, an easy, fun read/listen or someone just interested in a good story.

What happened to the story?

The book started off ok, and promising. Towards the end I just skipped several chapters because I felt it just got off topic. It went to post-partum depression. I understand the importance and seriousness of this issue and she has another whole book to deal with this, but if I wanted to read about this for chapter upon chapter, I would’ve opted for another book.

Disappointed

I loved the first book so much but it was like the second book was written by someone else. Mimi was not even remotely the same character. The story went off the rails to the point that I didn’t want to finish it. I was so disappointed in the author. She could have done so much better. The characters deserved better. I’m bummed.
