Publisher's summary

From the author of the international best-selling Tudor Trilogy, the story of the Tudor dynasty continues with the daughter of King Henry VII, sister to King Henry VIII.

Mary Tudor watches her elder brother become King of England and wonders what the future holds for her. Born into great privilege, Mary has beauty and intelligence beyond her years and is the most marriageable princess in Europe.

Henry plans to use her marriage to build a powerful alliance against his enemies. Will she dare risk his anger by marrying for love? Meticulously researched and based on actual events, this 'sequel' follows Mary's story from book three of the Tudor Trilogy and is set during the reign of King Henry VIII.

What a great book

The most dangerous place in the world at that time in history was the royal court. You lived a good life or died a pauper depending on the mood of the king at a particular moment. Absolute power and dictator

This is fourth book of tony king I have listened to. I’m NEVER bored and love all his description of landscape castles clothes and customs of that day. Oh and the description of the food such as ell and stuffed peacock. It’s very obvious this author did his research. He hasn’t let me down yet!!!

Great Story

The story of Mary Tudor and Charles Brandon has fascinated me since watching The Tudors. Loved hearing the author’s take on their story!

wonderfully written

By the end of the story I desperately hoped for a different ending contrary to the knowledge I already had regarding the Tudor era. I was invested in her story which is not always an occurrence with historical fiction. Great read!

Favorite Tony Riches Book To Date

This was well written, well narrated (the narrator can make, or break, an audio book), well researched, and thoroughly enjoyable book. I’ve listened to all of the Tudor books written by Mr. Riches. All have been very good, but the narration for his book on Henry VII made it hard to listen to. Ms. Redman did an outstanding job, and did the book justice. It left me wanting more. I look forward to Mr. Riches next offering.

FASCINATING!!

This is the first book I've listened to both author Tony Riches and author Ruth Redman. Sooo glad I did! Wow, what a fascinating story! I didn't know much if anything about Mary Tudor before listening to this book, and really enjoyed it. I thought it was well written and beautifully narrated. I'd highly recommend this to any fan of the era/family, great stuff! :) Always marry for love, not money/status!
