Publisher's Summary

Rosie and Alex are destined for each other, and everyone seems to know it but them. Childhood friends, then high school buddies, then long-distance confidantes, they barrel forward with their lives on sometimes parallel, occasionally intersecting, and often divergent paths. Yet the paths are always there, well-trod and deep.

Just when it seems that Alex and Rosie might be together forever, everything goes wrong: Alex gets the news that his family is leaving Dublin and moving to Boston. Devastated, the two make plans to apply to colleges in the U.S. She gets into Boston University, Alex gets into Harvard, and everything is falling into place. But on the eve of her departure, Rosie receives news that changes their lives forever. Her dreams for college, Alex, and a glamorous career are dashed as Rosie stays in Dublin while Alex pursues a medical career and a new love in Boston.

But destiny is a funny thing, and in this novel, structured as a series of clever e-mails, letters, notes, and a trail of missed opportunities, Alex and Rosie find out that fate isn't done with them yet. Delightfully unexpected and romantic, Love, Rosie is a novel of enormous heart that will keep listeners laughing and guessing until the very last word.

"Rosie Dunne is a worthy protagonist, complex enough to be compelling and ordinary enough to be believable." (Publishers Weekly)

Wonderfully performed...

My husband and I both enjoyed this audio book very much. All of the characters are funny and wonderfully performed. A light, heart warming tale of love and loss and patience. V&T

Really really wonderful! This is a must listen.

I don't usually write reviews, but i just couldn't believe that there were bad reviews about this book. It is definitely one of the BEST audiobooks I have ever listened to, and I actually use it to convert non - audiobook people with great success! I have recommended it to at least 10 different women and they all had one comment - "I couldn't stop laughing!!" Rosie is a wonderful character who is easy to love and root for, and the narrator did a great job with the accents and the emotion behind the words.
If you have a sense of humor, are a romantic, and like a girl with a little spunk.. Give this one a try - you won't regret it!

Great storyline

I didn't realize that this was the abridged version with different narrators. the story is awesome, but the abridged version is lacking and the original narrator was much better.

Easy Listen, Entertaining, Good Characters

If you could sum up Love, Rosie (a.k.a. Rosie Dunne) in three words, what would they be?

fun light touching

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration was great - different narrators for men and women and appropriate accents, best narration work I've heard.

Any additional comments?

Highly recommend for easy listening - it's a good, fun storyline and the characters will hook you. It was a bit frustrating at times between Rosie and Alex but stayed true to their characters.

Good story but frustrating

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It is a good story and well performed, however I purchased it hoping for a bit of a feel good listen and ended up with five or six hours of missed opportunities. Very frustrating. It's like watching

Disappointing

Although the narrators were excellent, I did not like that the book was written entirely as correspondence between the different characters. Six hours of email, instant messages, and greeting cards are hard to get through, and it seemed a little lazy on the part of the author. The story actually had a lot of potential, but it was a tough listen. Overall, I was very disappointed.

I LOVED this book

This was such a cute book, so heart warming and fun. It is a little bit hard to get used to the fact that it is all letters and IM's and text messages but once you get past that it is a great book.
