Publisher's Summary

The Sackett Brothers didn't know what brand of trouble was in store when they stirred up to ride north to the wild country - pushing 1100 head of fat steers across the wide Dakota plains toward the mountains of far western Canada.

Past Sioux, past Logan's treacherous enemies, through trails no cattle had ever crossed, the Sacketts drive on. Because when you step on the toes of one Sackett, they all come running.

This outstanding narrative is the chronicle of the Sackett family - one of the great achievements of one of our finest storytellers.

Wonderful narration...

Build up upon build up and no finish. The most anticlimactic L'Amour book I've read.
Great performance.

Love the Sackett Series

Would you listen to Lonely on the Mountain again? Why?

I absolutely love good Western novels, and the Sacketts series are some of the best books in the genre. Each one of these that I've bought I've listened to twice.

5+ good hours-30 minutes of let down

Good story, but very disappointing, anti-climatic ending. I could have written a more dramatic finish myself. The ending seemed completely inconsistent with the tone of the rest of the book.
