Publisher's Summary

We've all dreamt about it, but for Cleo Dowling the dream becomes a reality. Cleo comes into money and moves to Kilrowan in the West of Ireland to write a novel. But what happens when she loses the plot and becomes obsessed with her sexy neighbour?

Dannie Moore's love life has always been complicated, but when film director Jethro Palmer chooses Kilrowan as the location for a blockbuster movie, the effect on her life is cataclysmic. Deirdre O'Dare leaves her husband Rory in LA to accompany her friend, movie star Eva Lavery, to Kilrowan. But although Deirdre is writing Eva's biography, it would appear that the actress is not telling the truth, the whole truth. This rollercoaster ride of a book by the best-selling author of The Blue Hour and A Perfect Life is jam-packed with incident, humour, romance, and tragedy.

Great summer

I recommend both of Kate Thompson's books as great summer reads, or should I say listens. Typical "chicklet" material, but fun with well developed characters. What is even more amazing is the author's ability to narrate the book - great inflection and use of voices for each character.

Oh, and be sure to listen in order. I made the mistake of starting with "Sex, Lies and Fairytales". That hooked me to back track and get the first - "Living the Dream". I still greatly enjoyed the first, but would have liked it better without some of the knowledge of the characters and the outcome from the second book.

uninspired,spiritless and humdrum

This book was very very boring and that is being nice. I did not care about any of the characters.

Very enjoyable chicklit.

A good story if you want something light to listen to.
