Publisher's summary

Led by his curiosity and fueled by intelligence, Dr. Marcus Leon embarks on what he believes is the greatest scientific experiment of all time. One that ignites a firestorm of controversy. Not only does Marcus intend to extract DNA from the blood trapped in the Shroud of Turin, but he will clone the image upon it.

The experiment is a success and the masses embrace the clone as the embodiment of Christ, failing to recognize that science can replicate the body, but cannot touch the soul.

Devoid of this essential spirit, the clone is nothing more than a directionless vessel in need of a captain. A position quickly filled. The arrival of the clone begins the end to all humanity.

Last Days Trilogy includes all three books: Last Days, Exodus, and Purge.

Last days trilogy

Last Days
So you want to clone dna from the Shroud of Turin?Better bone up on your Bible, according to this sci fi story. It was slow going but kind of interesting.Iffy science and religious dogma make a good enough story.I liked the narrator,Rick Gregory.I found it funny where the lady with the British accent goes ahead in a deifinitey American accent. “I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
Exodus 2
This 2nd in a series was slow.Rick Gregory did a good job with the voices BUT as annoying as they were written to be,annoyed me.It seemed everyone in the story was irritated or worse with each other.A cloned Messiah is preparing for the last battle for Earth. He has gained some support along the way,but not everyone is on his side.I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.
”Purge bk 3:This is the last part of a series. It's the end of the world.Davante ,the clone turned antichrist,is waging war.He has demons, etc on his side.Humanity has Michael, the archangel.James is just a messenger.Again Marcu, clone maker,s is made to stay away from his love. This is the part I really dn't understand.Lilian comes back into Kile and Reggies life with dire consequences.
I liked some parts of this book.Michael and Devantes personalities were non existant Rick Gregory did a great job narrating.I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

Awesome series!!

Book 1: Marcus is a scientist and himself and his team have decided to take some samples from The Shroud of Turin and see can they grow a clone from the DNA on the Shroud. This is, of course, met with a lot of criticism from religious fanatics and others. They think it's sacrilegious. Death threats, attacks and abuse, doesn't deter Marcus and they plow away. The embryo grows amazingly well, but they never realised it would not be a baby, but a fully grown man. This man has powers and the masses think he is the Saviour, but while science can clone a body, they can't clone a soul, and this man doesn't seem right to Marcus. Just what have they created?

This is a hard book to rate because while it was incredibly intriguing, it was very slow to get going and took me a long time to get into. Things don't really get going till near the end of the book and there were times when I wanted to put it aside, which is unusual with this author! But I can tell that now the seeds are set, the rest of the series should be a lot faster to get going.

I did like the whole idea of the plot, even if the science of it was a little out there! The idea of trying to make a clone from the blood of the Shroud of Turin was unique and interesting. I do think the reactions of people was something that would happen, with people equal parts protesting against it, as they were delighted with the idea. I also liked that the author made it so Marcus's family weren't all on board with the idea.

I did love some of the characters. Reggie is a strong lead and I liked her spirit and her friendship with Marcus. She is there for him no matter what! I also liked Kyle, Reggie's dad. He was some much needed levity!! The author did write the characters well and I found myself rooting for them.

In all, this started slow, but did set the scene for, what I hope will become, a memorable series.

Rick Gregory did a really good job with this. This is the third one I've listened to by him, and with each one it seems that he is getting stronger as a narrator. He had a good few tones and voices for the different characters, and even read the females well. I think he still needs to work on his tone of voices, in regards emotion or tension, to really bring a book alive.

Book 2: Having loved book 1, I eagerly dived into this when I got it. Moving on from book 1 and the birth of the Antichrist, Devante, things are really starting to heat up. People are flocking to believe Devante and after he shows some of his power, they have no choice but to comply with him or die! Meanwhile Marcus and Reggie have their own hands full when they get a present from God.

As I said, I loved book 1 and couldn't wait to start this one, and boy was I happy with it!! The plot is really starting to come together. Things are about to come to a head and there seems to only be a handful of people who can stop it, namely Marcus, since he created Devante, and Reggie, who is about to become a kick ass warrior! Devante is making his army and any one who opposes him is dead!! The plot was fast paced and intense.

In all, this was a great second book. I felt my anticipation rising as the plot progressed and I know that the final book will be epic. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Rick Gregory read this really well. His tones and cadences were great and helped create the atmosphere needed for this book. He gave each of the characters their own personality and was able to bring them to life. I really like his portrayal of Devante!!

Book 3: This is the final in the trilogy and as sees Devante waging war on anyone opposed to him. Meanwhile, Marcus, Reggie and Michael are trying to build their own army to save humanity and destroy Devante. But what will the price be and will they be too late?

I really liked book 1, loved book 2 and was eagerly awaiting this one! And while I enjoyed this a lot, I felt a little let down with the final battle, which I'm not going to talk about because there would be major spoilers!!! All I'll say is that the final fight was a little too easy!

Other than that, this was well written, action packed and engrossing. There were plenty of other battle scenes that were full on and had me eagerly listening to the story. Reggie and Michael were so fun when they were interacting. Michael was hilarious at times and it added much needed levity to the overall good vs evil thing.

In all, this series was really good. It was a unique story line and held my attention the whole way through. I can't wait to check out more from this author.

Rick Gregory did a great job as always. I really liked the way he did Michael and his female voices were good. I did find that some of his male voices were very similar and it took me a few seconds to realise who was talking.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Loved the story line but not the narrator!

The story was intriguing enough to keep me going even though the narration was horrible.

Overall I think it was worth a credit

This was a decent listen. There were times where it was predictable, but I enjoyed it for what it was. More so I really liked the idea of the trilogy and and the overall story. Honestly I'm having a hard time pinpointing what could have been done better, and I'm torn between details/writing and narration/delivery. The main characters were absurd at times, and there seemed to weird swings between what was accepted and what was not, considering how the story was progressing. Anyway I'm not the best critic but I was very interested to read the reviews of others since there weren't any when I bought it. I was surprised to not see any low star reviews.

Biblically Apocalyptic!

This trilogy is awesome! It is now one of my favorite post-apocalyptic series! A doctor trying to clone Christ, what could go wrong? Dr Marcus Leon has always questioned his religious beliefs. He's a man of science and needs tangible evidence. What better evidence can you get than seeing Christ in the flesh. He intends to extract DNA from the Shroud of Turin and clone whoever was supposedly wrapped in it. The cloning is a success, but definitely not what he expected. He calls himself Devante. He is the Anti-Christ and he is ready to bring the end of days to mankind. As Devante gathers his army from Hell, Marcus, Regina, and the Archangel Michael gather an army of their own to fight back and save humanity. This is a great Sci-Fi trilogy that I highly recommend! Rick Gregory does an outstanding job with the narration!

Great story!

Pretty gripping from start to finish. A bargain to have all 3 of these for 1 credit. The narrator did a good job, excellent quality. As far as the story, it's not a post-apocalyptic story, but the apocalypse hanging in the balance. The characters are all very important. Very well done!

Really different approach to the end times

This story involves a young scientist who is trying to create a clone using the DNA from the Shroud of Turin. The process goes horribly wrong when word gets out and people start to turn against him and when the clone is taken over by evil.

The story revolves around two people. The scientist Marcus and the girl he has known since birth Reggie. Their adventures trying to correct the situation and the family involvement and those they care about involve death and destruction as well as love and commitment.

The story involves much death and destruction by the forces of evil yet manages to throw in many humorous zings throughout. A very well done story.

The narration is superb. Great range of voices and accents make it easy to tell the characters and it is done well with emotion to boot.

This book was provided free with the expectation of a review.

I enjoyed this book from beginning to the end. The characters were well developed and I enjoy the banter between them. I laughed and I cried a little. I enjoyed this book from beginning to the end.
