good enough listen.

I remember the TV show thought it would be nostalgic to listen to. It's not a bad story. I felt there were a few moments where I was wondering how does that fit in and it ended up it didn't. Johnny Heller saves it with, as always a great job doing what he is the best at.

Kolchak finally finds inner peace

Having being a fan of the great Kolchak since the start of his adventures, this might be a fitting conclusion for the great detective/reporter. Please keep in mind that "things that go bump in the night" will always be attracted to our hero.

nice but shortish story

Great for Kolchak fans. Not a long tale, but interesting. A couple of minor plot holes, minor.

Would’ve Made a great Episode for the Show

I was a fan of the Kolchak Night Stalker show back in the 70s. It was one of the first forays into unexplained phenomena. For those that aren't familiar with the show, the great Darin McGavin portrayed the title character in two tv films and a short lived show, as a reporter who uncovers vampires, werewolves and more. This show inspired a young man named Chris Carter to create the X-Files. McGavin even appeared in an episode. This original story fits the show and character perfectly. I read this book using immersion reading while listening to the audio book. Johnny Heller's voice is perfect, embodying the character to a T. As usual Kolchak finds himself drawn to the unusual. A great short story, very entertaining.

Classic

This is spot on Carl Kolckak. One of the luckiest monster hunters of all times. He is not a killer or superhero he is just a regular guy reporter. A must read for fantasy horror story people.

loved every minute of it.

I used to love the TV show when I was a kid back in the '80s my brother and I would watch it at like 1:00 in the morning. I like how they brought him into the new era. I found a new set of books I'm going to be buying.

The Usual Kolchak Romp, This Time In The Andes

Kolchak is everyone's favorite cheesy paranormal detective who bungles his way from one adventure to another. If you love Kolchak, this tale should not disappoint. Perfect narration!

A Pale Imitation

This book lacks all the things that made the first 2 books interesting. No slow creating terror. No newsroom squabbles. no dice into historical research that lends credence to the argument of the supernatural. Just a straightforward point A to point B story with a little splash of completely unexplained supernatural stuff in the last chapter. It feels more like a filler episode in the middle of a long season then anything. It's fun but forgettable.
