Good story

This was a good story though I felt it was too long and drawn out. Finding true love in the middle of everything that was going on was a little far-fetched but didn't detract from the story.

Not my favorite Jodi Picoult book....

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Read others first. This was REALLY hard for me to get "into". I am a huge Picoult fan and I stopped listening halfway through. Generally Jodi's book grab me and I can't stop listening until the book is done. This one doesn't do it for for me...

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I didn't finish listening

Have you listened to any of Julia Gibson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. This may have been to serious of a book for her voice. She has somewhat of a whimsical tone to her voice. I do enjoy her work though.

Was Keeping Faith worth the listening time?

I hate to say "No" as all of Jodi Picoult's book have a great message, but this would be at the bottom of my Picoult list.

Any additional comments?

If you have never read Picoult, read anything else first. Don't let this be your first Picoult book as it might be your last. If this was from another author I might not expect as much and it might be "ok". I will try to listen again in the future to see if I like it better.

Nice read

It's a little long but kept my interest all the same
The extra time allowed me to get to know characters

Keeping Faith

A very unusual story about a little girl who experiences God and several miracles. Very well read and told with an interesting storyline and characters. Flat attention getter. I will read this author again. Highly recommend ed!

A long and tiresome story

This book went on and on with the story of Faith White. I think the author could have told the story in a much shorter version. To me, this was not one of Jody Picoult's best books. Too long and drawn out. Were I given it again, I would skip it.

Very long, and very complicated

I felt like nothing really was settled after listening to this entire book…and I’m not convinced that even Ms Picoult knew how to end it. Sadly, it was not one of her finest pieces of writing.

Keeping Faith

Wonderful story of a woman in a very difficult situation doing the best she can. Very colorful characters, especially the star of a successful anti-religious TV show, who is out to disprove her daughter's visions and gifts. Great narration and great ending. If you listen you'll be engrossed, regardless of your religious beliefs. First and foremost it's a story about a woman trying to keep her daughter. Enjoy!!

Engaging story, annoying narration

I'm curious about religion, but not religious and found the plot engaging and the religious issues well handled. The story was compelling enough to overcome my dislike of the narration, which was annoyingly over acted at many points.

Ugh.

The narration was okay, except for the protagonist, who most readers need to love. I mean, that's why they call it the "protagonist" instead of the "antagonist."

But the story...I've loved many Jodi Picoult books, but I stopped reading them a few years back because every book had a huge twist on the last page. You can't just twist every ending or no one will be able to what they read. The real issue, though, is pure misinformation.

Catholics and Jews do not hate one another. They pray together often. Catholics are not pushy and would never force their way into anyone's lives. They don't jump at the opportunity to find miracles. And the feminine God has been a Catholic staple for at least 70 years, with belief in such a thing long before then.

Basically, 90% of the religion parts are just wrong. JP used to research everything thoroughly. What happened this time? Don't waste your money on this one.
