Not what I expected

From the title I expected strong powerful women but all I got was drug addicts, who abandoned their kids at the drop of a hat and chased behind the worst of men. Rape, physical and verbal abuse. It's just not my kind of entertainment.

Give it a minute...then whoa!!!!

Honestly, I never leave reviews. As a matter of fact, this is my first. This is a great read! I'm so excited I decided to give this author a try. Urban (street) novels are new to my library. However, the characters are written so vividly that I am simply floored at how deep I have been pulled into the story. I feel like I really know these characters. I have looked up the series so I can listen in order. I'm sure I will be a fan for life. There's only one narrator so some of the characters did initially sound the same but, as the story developed, that was no longer an issue. Just try it. Give it a minute... Then get in where you fit in!!!

Hooked

I was hooked from the very beginning. While some of the scenes were graphic and a little more edgy that I like I enjoyed the book and look forward to listening to the next book in the series. You definitely won't be wasting a credit on this book.

More than expected

If you could sum up Hustlin’ Divas in three words, what would they be?

More than Expected

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hustlin’ Divas?

The end of the book.

What about Honey Jones’s performance did you like?

This was an excellent performance. They were able to keep the characters seperate and make the book seem very real.

Who was the most memorable character of Hustlin’ Divas and why?

All of them.

Any additional comments?

I listen to the snippet of this book more than 5 times before deciding on it. After reading the reviews for a 2nd time i said what the heck. When it started i thought it would be a bit immature with no great story line. I WAS WRONG. The book actually has a story that is one that you want to continue to hear more of. I really really enjoyed the book after all. Everyone in the book had a story and it was great. If you like urban reads then you would most. def. enjoy this one. And i read alot.

Magnificent

If you could sum up Hustlin’ Divas in three words, what would they be?

fantastic, wonderful, entertaining

What did you like best about this story?

There was nothing that I didn't like about the story.

What does Honey Jones bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The different voices, enthusiatic voice, and sound effects.

Who was the most memorable character of Hustlin’ Divas and why?

All characters where memorable. Each one caught and kept my attention. I felt myself wanting to know what was going to happen next for that character.

Any additional comments?

This was a wonderful. I can't put into words how engulfed I was in each member. I can't wait until the second part

More than I wanted to know

The first thing you should know is that this book is the most profane thing that has ever touched my ears and I have kind of a potty mouth myself.

Second of all - if you really want to understand gang life and all that shooting and pimping and violence this book will take you there in vivid detail.

Yes there is true love but in the world of gang warfare true love apparently takes you down a really rocky path. What is much more common is domination, submission and the misguided notion that if you are banging the biggest, baddest guy in the gang you win - no matter how else he spends his time.

I'm glad I listened to and it gave me some insight (but no compassion) and I was fully engaged but it hurt my heart to think that people live this way and die this way. I'm really hoping it was more fictitious than expository.

Gives outsiders and inside view

Books like this are excelent for those who know nothing about this type of life. I oversee a youth group but I know I have not experienced some of the things the kids have. This book allowed me to get into their minds after some of the things they may have been through. A great read for those who condem people before they know their story. The task to try and turn around the mind set of these "Divas" would break counselours in half.
