Who needs mistletoe?

Most people wouldn’t think of a bad Santa case as the perfect Christmas gift. Then again, Molly Malone, office manager at Hunt Investigations, isn’t most people, and she could really use a distraction from the fantasies she’s been having since spending the night with her very secret crush, Lucas Knight. Nothing happened, not that Lucas knows that - but Molly just wants to enjoy being a little naughty for once....

Whiskey and pain meds for almost-healed bullet wounds don’t mix. Lucas needs to remember that the next time he’s shot on the job, which may be sooner rather than later if Molly’s brother, Joe, finds out about them. Lucas can’t believe he’s drawing a blank on his (supposedly) passionate tryst with Molly, who’s the hottest, smartest, strongest woman he’s ever known. Strong enough to kick his butt if she discovers he’s been assigned to babysit her on her first case. And hot enough to melt his cold heart this Christmas.

Loved.

I never have anything bad to say about Jill Shalvis’s books. I absolutely love her style of writing. One thing though, I missed Karen White’s narrating. She absolutely makes these books more enjoyable. Vivian Leheny, did a great job. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Jill Shalvis and Romance.

It was a good story

I didn’t like how the reader made Lucas sound. The story was great and was about much more than just romance. Everything tied up into a nice little bow at the end, with a fun twist I didn’t see coming.

Jill has another hit

Molly is the office manager for Hunt Investigations. She's always had a secret crush on Lucas but has never pursued it. After he was shot, on pain meds and decided to drink, Molly knew she had to help him. Lucas thinks because he woke up with her, too many things happened and is afraid his boss and her brother Joe will kill him.
Molly is approached by her neighbor, who is an elf at Santa's Village and is worried that they are being scammed. Molly wants in but Hunt Investigations doesn't want to take it on. Knowing she'll do it on her own, they put Lucas as a babysitter for her. Only, he finds out she's more than capable to handle things on her own and is worth more than the guys give her credit for. Lots of twists and turns, deceit , action and of course a HEA? A wonderful read as always from Jill.

Cozy love story

I found me another new favorite author. I hope all her books are happy endings. I'm getting tired of the books that make you love the couple only to ripe your soul out. This book was nothing like that and it was funny af.

The female lead Molly so annoying

I am not done yet but Molly was so annoying always doing what she is told not to do. Contemplating not finishing because of her.

Pity Party Anyone

Had potential, but was made complicated by past sad stories and heart aches.I understand that people can be protective but by doing so,can also insult ones ability to be an equal.I don’t blame Molly for being upset with the guys she works with, they all were treating her like she was an invalid instead of the intelligent, capable woman she is and that she shows them.

Narrative is awful

The performance/narration of this book is awful, I couldn’t even endure 1 whole chapter. I absolutely love Jill Shalvis, but I have to buy this book to read it myself.

Narrator is disappointing

I will admit that I have not finished listening to this, so my review is solely based on the narration. I love Jill Shalvis and have listened to all of the Heartbreaker Bay series prior to this one. I was disappointed in the change of narration shortly into the book. I thought it could have been the fact that there was a change that I struggled with. But no, it’s everything about the narrator that I’m struggling with. Her tone comes across angry and tense. I don’t think I’ll be able to finish listening. I am sure the story is wonderful, as I’ve enjoyed the series up to this point.
