Is reconstruction healing America, or is it really a covering for a new war?

America continues the struggle to become a country for everyone...

Carrie steps into a new season of love in her life but, once again, has to leave the plantation to fulfill her dream. Her heart is both happy and torn. She is pulled into a new challenge when Frances makes friends that reveal a hidden horror for children in America.

Rose and Moses are thrilled to be home but are swept up once again in the new war raging in America.

Susan takes a huge step into happiness, while Thomas and Abby create a miracle for Marcus.

Jeremy and Marietta are forging through challenges to create a new life in Philadelphia but wonder if they will lose everything.

When everyone really just wants a simple, clear future, each person finds they have to make the best choices possible as they watch their Horizons Unfolding.

Audiobook 12 of the Bregdan Chronicles continues the sweeping historical saga that now encompasses the fourth year of American reconstruction. How many will there be in the Bregdan Chronicles? No one knows yet...

Ginny intends to write and record these character's stories, one year at a time, for as long as she is able to write and record. She is passionate about bringing history to life through historical fiction. Since she is amazingly healthy, that could be for a very long time! She doesn’t like stories to end any more than you do. This one won't end for a very long time!

Unbearable Narration

Ginny Dye’s book is very good and I enjoy the history lesson. But I would recommend reading and not listening do to the narrator. Since the narrator change I have tried to give this new one a chance but the voice of the children characters is so irritating. I can bear the thought of listening to Francis baby talk anymore, she supposed to be 11 not 3 years old. Please please change things !!!

History Lessons Learned

Other than Frances’ voice, the story is a good lesson in history. 5 year old John sounds smarter and older than Frances, it’s pretty grinding on the ear nerve. The stories depict the closeness of family and friends which is pretty much lost in today’s technological and post Covid world, I envy them.

Good book. Less than good narration.

I enjoyed this series until the narrator changed.
Surely there are narrators somewhere with a genuine southern accent?

Learning

This has been a fascinating journey from the first book to the end of this book. I will keep on listening and learning. It has inspired me to learn more and be more of a voice for change. I never read about reconstruction and it has made me hungry for more. Keep writing and I’ll keep listening!!!!

Another Wonderful Book

This book has Carrie working to achieve her life goals and helping to bring the country back together. Everyone is doing this in their own way.

Nothing tragic.

it was good to read a Bregdan that was not full of tragedy. not saying the social issues addressed weren't sad. The working conditions, child labor, and women`s treatment in the past were brought to the forefront. it's hard to believe we have come so far. it was a good read. however, I almost put it down because of the overexaggeration of the southern child's voice: Francis. I can't describe how irritating that was. looking forward to #13.

ugh this narrator...

The story, as always, is wonderful. there are so many moments that the narrator assigns such annoying voices to the characters that I have to press myself to continue listening. am I the only one?

Great look into history

I have read or listened to every addition of this series. I don't like the narrators for Carrie or her daughter. She is not a 4 year old!!! Carrie's voice runs from sappy to????? Abbey has the most authoritative yet genial voice
