Publisher's summary

Seventeen-year-old Maggie Duncan is torn between her obligations as a dutiful daughter and her hatred of her father's cruel pursuit of money and power. But on the boundary between childhood and womanhood, Maggie discovers it is not her father who stands in the way of her happiness - it is her own tightly held bitterness. Drawn to a man quietly struggling to overcome his past, Maggie must learn to let go of hatred and embrace divine love and forgiveness.

In The Heather Hills of Stonewycke, two best-selling authors begin a glorious series about hearts and minds being opened to God. Davina Porter's wonderful narration captures all the sweep and grandeur of this panoramic saga.

Davina Porter makes this book

Davina Porters voice ranges from girls to old women, from boys to old men and she can sing to. She is by far the best narrator around. I picked this series because she narrates them, but beyond that the book itself is great as well. I'm looking forward to ESCAPE FROM STONEWYCKE, the next book in this series.

Disappointing Ending

I found it to be a bit predicatible in that I knew the two main characters would end up together; I knew this upon the first meeting of the two. My feelings toward the book would have been more favorable had I been pleased with the wrap-up of her family

Worst ending to a mediocre story I have ever read/heard

The story flowed well up until the end. It was as if the authors had to move on to something else and decided to cut the story short to do so. Davina Porter was the only reason to listen to this book.
