Stephanie in a Rut Through No Fault of Her Own

Free Stephanie!!! The last 8 or so books in the once-dynamic Plum series have become formula books: Predictable in the structure of the plot. Fortunately, this one has some of delectable comedy and satire that made the series irresistible. Unfortunately, it totally lacks the romantic tension that made the series so compelling in its heyday. Also missing is any growth in any of the characters or any real insight into them, as we used to get during the series' heyday. It was a great mix in the old days! But now, it's as if the author has become more interested in her other works, but can't give up this series. When it's time for another Plum book, she just pulls out the same old recipe and whips something up, without putting her heart into it. After all of this time, I have ceased to care whether Stephanie chooses Ranger or Joe. It's time to Free Stephanie!

Just stop!

For the last several books, it has been the exact same thing. Lula eats everything and acts crazy, Grandma Mazur is inappropriate, Mom is becoming an alcoholic from Grandma and Stephanie’s behavior, and Stephanie can’t decide between Morelli and Ranger. Oh, and destroys several cars. Only this time with “zombies”.
Janet please either end the series or put a little effort into it!!

Sign

I love Janet Evanovich and I love this series but I think I'm just about burned out on it. The story itself just didn't work for me. I was a little irritated that Diesel was in it because we've all been left hanging for the last few years with his series. Don't get me wrong, I love Diesel, but I NEED him to be in his series with Lizzie so that series can keep going. Besides Diesel, I felt like Ranger had a very small part in this book. And the scenes seemed a bit rushed with him. The whole concept of this story was a bit far fetched, even for this series. I don't know, I guess I'm just over the whole thing.

No laughs, no fun

I had hoped that the other reviews exaggerated when they addressed the low quality of this book. alas, they did not. This was without question the worst of all of the Stephanie Plumb titles and it was so disappointing.

I have always liked this series because it is light and funny. Until this book I have always laughed my way through each book. This time I don't think I laughed once. Adding Diesel to the mix was unnecessary and I agree with previous reviewers that character and plot development were lacking. I love this series and don't want to see it end. Please bring back the fin books that I know and love.

They just keep getting worse

She is capable of being such a good author but just sacrificed her talent for quick turn over

To repetitive!

This series Needs some progression. She is sleeping with both Morreli, and Ranger, thinking about sleeping with Diesel. What? Zombie theme could have been interesting, but was actually boring. This book pretty much a mix repeat of of her earlier books. I found my self say hay that happened in book __, just with __ instead. Nothing new except Grandma got a new friend.

Narrated was great as usual, if not for her I would have stopped listing. Janet Evanovich owes her big time!

Hardcore Twenty-Four

Disappointed! This was by far the worst book I have read in a very long time. There was a story? I have always looked forward to Janet's books but that ship has now sailed.

I think Stephanie should retire and leave town. Joe, Ranger and Diesel should get over her and move on.

Not her best work

I didn't like the zombie story line or the the addition of Diesel. It seemed like a thrown together story.

But I'm still a fan of hers. I'll read the next book she publishes.

Tedious

We all know we are purchasing mindless when buying a Stephanie Plum book. Unfortunately mindless is a step up. Not even good development of past character interactions much less anything new. Don’t waste a credit in this one. Too many other good books out right now.

Think this series is OVER

I have loved these books since One for the money but this book, as well as 23 were disappointing. I feel like Janet just threw in Diesel to do something different but it failed. It references him popping in and out of her life in the past but if you ONLY read these books that makes no sense. It is like out of nowhere she has another person confuse the Ranger and Joe love story, which also needs to go somewhere already. As much as I loved this series and I re listen to the books all the time I think I am done after this one.
