Publisher's Summary

Living on her own for her first time, Bible school student Jane cleans houses to make ends meet. But being independent brings big trials, like falling for a handsome professor, dealing with an obnoxious roommate, and then there's the dead bodies...

Who knew being housekeeper to wealthy owners of a Roly Burger franchise would mean sweeping up clues to their death, while ministering to the needs of their heirs?

This is one big mess that Jane is intent on cleaning up before things get even worse.

"Ms Roberts is the best thing about this book"

Actually bought this a while ago, but it got lost in the to-be-read pile.
Interesting little mystery, speedy plot, but main character is disappointing. For someone who is paying out big money to go to private college to learn to be a missionary, she seems to have little sense and less adaptive skills.
The saving points of this Whispersync-on-the-cheap deal was the performance by narrator Rebecca Roberts. I honestly can't say if I would have finished it as a print or ebook, but her voice interpretation caused me to want to listen to the end.

Retired CFO, Army wife, Mom of five, Grandma of six, two sons who served in combat, love to read books that reflect my values and faith, love mysteries, historical, military stories, and books that don't waste my time . . . if it doesn't have an ending that was worth the wait, I'm not a happy camper.

"Beefy Burgers, Bible College & Being Independent"

Jane is working her way through Bible College, to the consternation of her parents, who'd prefer her to come home and enroll in a four-year university . . . on their dime . . . nearing graduation, Jane makes ends meet by cleaning houses . . . when one morning she arrives at one of her clients' homes to find them DEAD . . . the wealthy clients are the owners of a burger franchise in town, which has been drawing health nut protesters on the news . . . Jane continues to keep house for the family of the deceased, and her other clients, as well as go to school, while she and Jake, the son try to determine what killed Mr. and Mrs. Crawford . . . the protesters would have them think they died of heart disease after years of eating burgers . . . the story is clean and Jane is way too naive for her own good, finding her unsavory roommate on the internet and buying a used car that turns out to be stolen . . . but you will find yourself rooting for her, relishing in her unstoppable spirit and wishing that more of today's young people had her kind of work ethic . . . all in all an easy, fun listen . . .

    Story
    "Double Trouble Murder"
What made the experience of listening to Good, Clean, Murder the most enjoyable?

Moves along fast and holds ones interest.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Quit the biting of the lip. Not only is Jane constantly biting her lip or her inside cheek, others do the same. Make Jane have a little more backbone. Jane mistakes being a doormat as being a Christian.

What about Rebecca Roberts’s performance did you like?

Rebecca Robert's did a really good job narrating. She has a nice voice and makes the story more interesting. I really like Roberts style.

If you could rename Good, Clean, Murder, what would you call it?

I really don't know what else to call it. The title is quirky and ok as it is.

    Any additional comments?

Too many references to missionary or church things that are abbreviated without explaining the meaning of them. Jane is a bit of a drip. She sure is not ready for any kind of missionary work. It is a Christian mystery but could be better presented. I felt like the Bible and Christian references were more fillers than true Christian content.

Would you listen to Good, Clean, Murder again? Why?

It was beautifully written with good solid Christan principles, emphasising that God will never abandon us. The narrator was good too. I definitely want to read the next in the series.

What other book might you compare Good, Clean, Murder to and why?

The books from Authors like Liz Whil, Terri Blackstock, and so many more awesome Authors who write good, clean, unswearing, non-blasphemous, stories that are thoroughly intertaining and teach us many Christian principles ,

Sci-fi, detective, cozy. Only give 5s to those books I think stand above the rest. 4 is a good solid book. 3 is average, nothing special.

The story was ok, narration was average, but the editing was lacking. Background noises between chapters.

    "Mystery Solved"

This mystery is solved but the story continues. This seems to work ok in this cozy style mystery. However it doesn't work for the romance reader. The Christian values are well done in this book. Believable and realistic. I like the fact Jane realizes she is trying to earn her stars and tries to change and strives to please God not people. It a good PG13 book. The narrator is good, but could do the male voices better.

    "Christian Mystery"

It seems aimed at a young adult audience. I was a little dissatisfied with the conclusion. It was more about teaching a message than solving a mystery.

The main caricature was a little wishy washy but a nice person. Nice for light reading.
