I always love the story line in Jude’s books. I could relate to this one too. The narration was excellent as well.

Highly entertaining
The story is a good mystery and romance. The main character, Eden was very believable and not a mere youth. She had had full and bumpy life that carried forward to her present. The eighteenth century home she inherits from an older woman she knew is the center of much intrigue. You must read the story for more information.

Could have been better.
The hardest part was listening to the narrator. I didn’t think the narrators voice went along with the characters in the book. The voice was too raspy for the main character Eden. At times the story was a little boring.

Deveraux is always a good romance read
Jude Deveraux is always a good romance read. That said, this is an ok book but nowhere near the quality of something like Knight in Shining Armor.
If you're looking for a nice book to relax with, this is just fine. I don't regret the credit, but I'm sure that I won't remember the plot for very long.
There was a fun story line but certainly not one of her best books.

Poor performance
The narrator was painful to listen to. She sounds like a chain smoker with a stuffy nose and you can hear the saliva in her mouth.
The main character is weak. The fact that she feels like she needs to apologize for things that are clearly not her fault is infuriating
