Publisher's summary

From number-one New York Times best-selling authors Preston & Child, an all-new short story featuring Agent Pendergast, available only as an ebook and audio download.

In New Orleans' French Quarter, the Tooth Fairy isn't a benevolent sprite who slips money under your pillow at night.... He's a mysterious old recluse who must be appeased with teeth - lest he extract retribution. When young Diogenes Pendergast loses a tooth, however, his skeptical older brother Aloysius is determined to put the legend to the test...with dire consequences.

Great Pendergast short story, don't use a credit

Typically convoluted and fascinating Pendergast short story--great for Halloween or around a campfire. Pay the small price, but don't use a credit, as it is so short. But definitely worth getting!

A different take on the tooth fairy

This is a creepy but cute 45 minute short story from from Perdergast's childhood in New Orleans. I'm aware that narrator Rene Auberjonois gets rave reviews for the Pendergast novels he narrates, but I'm not a fan.

A chilling short Aloysius - Great

This is a short teaser before the up coming release of the next Pendergast novel. As always, his stories are chilling. This story is from his childhood and told to Constance in the living room of their house in New York. It is suitably disturbing in the traditional manner. It is worth the hour. Pop open your wallet and pay cash. Thumbs up.

Early Pendergast Tale

This was a wonderfully scary story in a classic style, without guts and gore. Implied terror in the style of old Victorian horror, this is a beautifully written frightening tale of an alternative to the tooth fairy. I read this book using immersion reading while listening to the audio book and René Auberjonois of Star Trek Deep Space Nine fame, handled the narration beautifully. A scary treat.

Thank you Preston and child

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

yes of course!!

What did you like best about this story?

It solves a mystery all Pendergas fans have wondered about.

Have you listened to any of Rene Auberjonois’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Wonderful story telling... I love his honeyed voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I didn't realize that this story actually tells the reader what we have always wanted to know.
I loved it.

16 minutes?

Quick little story. My disappointment with it was that the story ended and there was 16 minutes randomly taken from another book tacked on to it. Very weird. Kinda felt it was overpriced as the audio was not all the story I thought I was buying.

Meh, short storie

Would you try another book from Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child and/or Rene Auberjonois?

Yes, kinda addicted to this series.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Okay, for a short story, how far can you go in a short time, make sure you've listended to other Pendergast stuff otherwise you wont know the characters.

What does Rene Auberjonois bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Good speaking voice, like listening to an old friend tell a good story

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Probably not, too short

Pendergast teaser

While I hunger for more Agent Pendergast this was a little predictable. The narrator was excellent and the story fair.

too short

This was a set of 2 very short stories. The first better than the last. The only problem I have is that they were too short and I really didn't feel like I got my money's worth. Also I felt both stories left the reader hanging but perhaps that was the intention. I love the characters and this series.
