Publisher's Summary

The Mexican War has recently ended and scattered outposts of the U.S. Army are attempting to bring order to the newly won territory of Texas. Cavalry officer Major Lee Stuart barely escapes with his life when his troop is attacked during a desert sortie by renegades, headed by "El Falcon". But when Stuart returns to his base, he is accused of deserting his men and branded a traitor. To avenge his reputation, he sets out on a single-handed search for "El Falcon", little knowing that the brutal leader is intent on wiping out the entire U.S. Army forces in Texas.

Critic Reviews

"The old west returns in this audio presentation. The story is riveting...the audio is high quality and Lewis' reading well done." (Daily World)

Old West yarn with Shakespearean Rhythm.

Fun, western yarn reportedly in Shakespearean prose. Bit of an iambic lilt I guess. Colorful, at times picturesque in description, but basically a western with a fort, a cavalry a tyrant, a renegade and stuff goin on ya know?

One line went something like, "He expectorated at a toad under a cacti and hit his mark."
