Publisher's Summary

Single mom Heather Donovan’s dreams of home and family are tantalizingly within reach when she settles in Chesapeake Shores. The welcoming arms of the boisterous, loving O’Brien clan embrace her and her son. But accepting their support seems to further alienate her son’s father, Connor O’Brien. His parents’ divorce and his career as a high-powered divorce attorney have left him jaded about marriage. Then everything changes. Will the possibility of a future without Heather make Connor look at love and his career differently?

Heather’s just about given up on her old dreams - of love, of family, and especially of Driftwood Cottage, the home she secretly wishes was hers. It’s going to take a lot of persuasion - and some help from the O’Brien family - to make Heather believe that some dreams are worth fighting for.

Spend some more time in Chesapeake Shores.

Driftwood Cottage

OMG Heather was such an annoying person, she drove me mad, Connor should have just said ok and walked away, just truely pathetic and not worth the read, such a disappointment.

Very romantic

I love the story lines and I can't wait to read the next one , I do wish at the end of a series book that they would tell you the title of the book that to follow the story.

It started off juicy.....

...but Connor's position (which included the repetitive dialogue on marriage between. Connor and Heather ) just kept going on and on and on and on and on. It was just painful and annoying. Then, just when I thought the book was ending, it went on and on and on and on....
Thus far, of the books in this series that I've read, this is definitely my least favorite in the series. It was unnecessarily long and mentally draining.

Not Woods Best Work

I began reading this series of books in anticipation of Hallmarks presentation. I enjoy the Hallmark version but the books not so much. I feel like I just read the same chapter 20 times. I do however love the family and want to get to know them as Woods first intended. Hopefully the next book will be better.

Aaarrrrrrrg!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Sorry Sheryl.......Never penned.

What was most disappointing about Sherryl Woods’s story?

The two main characters Heather and Connor seem to be emotionally age five, not mid to late twenties. I wanted to just lock them in a room and forget them. the book was full of the same scene played over and over and over however many, many places and times throughout the story and by both characters. Sheryl flogged that horse to death. I listen for pleasure and this book only made me disdainful.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Baby, bath water.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Connors seeing his job for what it was and the saving of a great old house.
