Publisher's summary

Warning: This story contains suicidal material that may be sensitive to some listeners.

Things weren't supposed to turn out this way. My story should have been different. Happier. Maybe in another life, it would've been. But, life isn't a fairy tale, and the good guys don't always win.

I didn't mean to cause anyone pain. I just wanted to end my own. The letter, his words - crushed me. It seemed as if there was no other way out. Nothing can change what happened, and nothing could have prepared me for what came after those two words: Dear Adam.

This book tore at my heart.

Dear Adam. And with that Adam's world changed. In this book Adam tells us his story, a story weaved over the passage of time. From friendship, to first love, happiness, pain and loss. A feeling that you can't go on. In the end, it's one of triumph and learning to move on.

Made me she’d a tear

This is such an important subject that many fail to discuss or choose to ignore. That story is so real and reflects in so many ways to so many people. Thank you so much for the power of your words and such a powerful narration

Very Powerful & Moving Book. Must Download.

Where does Dear Adam rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of my all-time favorites. Very compelling.

What about Brad Rakushin’s performance did you like?

Brad Rakushin brought the story to life like no other person could. A great performance that will not soon be forgotten.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I could not stop listening. It is a very important story and I felt compelled to listen to the whole story in one sitting. It really shows that reminds us that it often very difficult to be a gay person in today's society -- and it’s even harder for kids in their teens.

Any additional comments?

Heartbreaking story, full of important life lessons. Highly recommend 5+ stars.

Beautiful Narrative of my Favorite Book

This book is one of my favorite books and Brad did an amazing job bringing these beloved characters to life. It is the best audiobook narration I have heard. I would definitely recommend this audiobook.

Important & touching story

This story is incredibly important for anyone who has ever lost a loved one. This book puts a human face on suicide, specifically among the LGBTQ community. It is so wonderfully performed and narrated by Brad Rakushin. Rakushin elevates the writing to a new level that tears at the heart and makes you feel like you're really being told the story from the lead character himself. I was transfixed by his emotion, and feel like I went on this difficult journey with him. Highly, highly recommend. And huge kudos to them for including the suicide prevention information; the Trevor Project is a terrific resource for those who struggle with grief and/or suicide.

Sadly beautiful 💞

This is such a powerful tale of how words, actions, ignorance, hate, selfishness, heartbreak, feelings unworthiness, and a weak support system can destroy something so d@mn beautiful.

A heartbreaking tale but a lovely bittersweet ending. -teary eyed smile-

Brad Rakushin, his voice was mesmerizing as Conner 💞Adam.
I'm going to go hug and kiss my son now.

OMG

I thought about this story simply because it is so close to a part of my life. While I was listening I realized there were tears on my face and I know it was just a story but it is so real to life. It's a story that make you want to hug and kiss your child and tell them that you will always love them no matter what, you might disagree with their life choices but you will always "LOVE" them and be "THERE" for them! I like Brad Rakushin performance. To Ms Jaclyn Osborn "GOOD JOB".
