    Story
    "It's time to head out"

Dan and Quinn decide it’s time to head out. Quinn suggests they go to see her Aunt Meredith in Oklahoma. Seems like a good idea to Dan, so off they go. We follow Dan and Quinn in their travels as they come across infected and other survivors, most of which are worse than the infected. On the other side of the plot coin Meredith and Sheila have their own problems with Ben running amuck. Scratch Sheila and Ben. I can’t stand it when survivors do not do the obvious and instead do something stupid. Meredith heads to town and decides to look up her old friend John Parrish. She finds him surrounded by infected and manages to affect his escape. Now it’s Meredith and John on the road looking for comfort and safety. Ultimately our two parties join together at Meredith’s home where they make a stand against the infected. Good continuation in the Contamination Series. Well-developed and likable if not somewhat dim-witted characters. I’ll follow along in the series to see what happens.

    "meh"

More of the same, rather uninspired characters making poor decisions. Yet again, I wish the author would do some simple research (weapons, police tactics, etc) to make the story richer and more realistic.

    Story
    "So so"

Story is decent but I cant say anything really drew me in. Just went along kinda hum dee dum dum. So the story starts off at the junk yard again and, sure enough, they gotta split. I don't know why the "agents" are still around with their leader dead. Their entire existence seems so pointless. So Dan and Quinn figure a good destination would be his wife's sister, Meredith, at some isolated farm somewhere.

The book tells two stories, about Dan and his daughter Quinn and Meredith. Meredith plays the "this can't be happening" type of role and drives around like Mr. Magoo with zombies everywhere and I can't fathom how zombies can kill anyone at all if they can't kill her.

There are a few holes here and there, like the science of the zombies. How a bite doesn't seem to infect, their behavior seems sometimes smart in the old books, but otherwise dumb. How can their be survivors if the food is infected; what have they been eating?

Now there is one "bad guy" who steals their car but this part feels disappointingly unresolved. Reason to buy the next book in the series it seems, this story is unfinished! I want to meet up with those characters again.
