this is one of my favorite books to listen to over and over again and again

Love the story, but not the potrayal of the south

I HATED the drawl the narrator used. I am from the South and I know that our accent can be somewhat drawn out, but as I listened to this I was insulted. In my opinion the narrator made the men in the story sound DUMB, even the ones like Tucker and Burke who were not protrayed as dumb. Now the boys that burned the cross in the black man's yard.. yes, ignorance was suppose to be protrayed, but retarded or mentally challenged is what came to my mind when he spoke for them. I LOVED the story/book. I have read the book and also watched the movie. I did not take any offence to the book when reading it. I was somewhat of a critic when watching the movie as I feel actors have a hard time getting that southern drawl out correctly, but I take that in stride. But this narrator offended me.

Love a book you can’t predict

I enjoyed the characters and overall enjoyed the story line. The sample almost turned me off because of the weird sounding southern accent, but the reviews of the narrator were good so I gave it a chance. It ended up being an interesting story and the narrator was good.

Innocence

Carnal Innocence the unabridged version as well and narrator was fantastic. Before listening to this audiobook I listen to the abridged version. this was so much better, and explained a lot.

Small can hold a lot of secrets, and as they say secrets kill. For Carolyn coming back to her grandparents home and town, she find more than secrets. She finds herself.

I would recommend this novel.

Loved and Laughed through this book!

If your from the south, especially a small town, then you will appreciate all the parts about a southern small town in this book. It does have some language and adult content in it though, so I guess what I’m saying is “it’s not for everyone.” But if you can let it roll off your shoulders, and appreciate what the story is about, this a great murder mystery that will keep your attention! Thank you for good book to occupy my time, and BIG thank you to the narrator, who never disappoints!!!!!😊😊

carnal innocence

I am not a romance novel listener, but I have two other books from Nora Roberts that happen to be two of my favorite books, so when I was looking at books narrated by Tom stechschulte I ran across carnal innocence. I figured what the heck, steamy hot romance or not, I'll bite.
It is truly the talents of Tom Stechschulte that makes this book unforgettable! With the writing talents of Nora Roberts and in my opinion award winning performance from Tom, it's a win win situation. you absolutely will not be disappointed. Good characters and lots of humor that makes you laugh out loud. Murder, and mayhem in the town of innocence Mississippi. it will keep you coming back for more.
