Publisher's summary

The Wilderness Years are over. But not for long. At the end of Bridget Jones's Diary, Bridget hiccuped off into the sunset with man-of-her-dreams Mark Darcy. Now, in The Edge of Reason, she discovers what it is like when you have the man of your dreams actually in your flat and he hasn't done the washing-up, not just the whole of this week, but ever.

Lurching through a morass of self-help-book theories and mad advice from Jude and Shazzer, struggling with a boyfriend-stealing ex-friend with thighs like a baby giraffe, an 8ft hole in the living-room wall, a mother obsessed with boiled-egg peelers, and a builder obsessed with large reservoir fish, Bridget embarks on a spiritual epiphany. Bridget is back. V.g. The third installment in Bridget Jones' journey, Mad About the Boy, is out in October 2013.

Way better than the film version

What did you love best about Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason?

I was hesitant to read it since I had watched the movie first and it was a total flop, but I am so glad I did. I feel as though some of the events merged with events that were included in the first film, which may be why the film deviates so much from the book. Still, there were more suspenseful parts of the book which were sadly left out of the film. It goes without saying, the book was better than the movie.

What other book might you compare Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason to and why?

Other than its predecessor, I'd have to compare the series to an adult version of Meg Cabot's Princess Diaries. Light-hearted, humorous romps.

Which scene was your favorite?

I enjoyed the meat purse fiasco.

If you could take any character from Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Mark Darcy...because I'd have to steal him away from Bridget, of course!

Any additional comments?

If you were a fan of the first book/movies, you'll enjoy it!

Bridget being Bridget...

What made the experience of listening to Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason the most enjoyable?

I loved this book! It was an excellent follow-up. Great continuing storyline. Additionally, Imogen Church's voice truly captures the essence of Bridget.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bridget, of course. She is a total mess, but that's what I love about her. She is totally relatable.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Nothing, Imogen Church was fabulous!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both. There were parts that made me laugh (Bridget being Bridget in typical Bridget fashion) and others that made me cry (every tender moment Bridget shared with Mark).

Having Bridget's story read to me has brought a whole new life to the character. I love listening over and over because I notice something new each time. Well written. Well performed. Thank you for this experience.

L.O.V.E.

Love Imogen Church.
Love Bridget Jones.
I have listened to this & the first diary over 5 times each. Genuinely. I love them. There's just something about them. Super lame review, I know, but my love clouds my ability to be analytical.

Too funny!

I love Bridgette! I just want to sit in a pub and get pissed with her and her friends. Smart and so relatable to the singletons of the world. Narrator is phenomenal!

Even Better!

I don't feel the desire to re-listen to a book very often, but I did with this one. I enjoyed Imogen's version of Helen. Delicious! I caught myself from time to time repeating out loud phrases. This audio book is like a quirky best friend! Enjoy!

Loved it.

I loved the story but the narration made it really come to life. I adore Bridget jones and this book held up just as well with the first one. Helen fielding makes me laugh and cheer but above all, makes me realise I am not alone. Thanks Bridget.

My best friend

Bridget Jones is my best audiobook friend, thanks to the narration by Imogen Church and the charisma of Helen Fielding. I love listening when I am feeling a bit down and need some cheering up. I’ve listened to this (and the first one in this series) audiobook countless times. It’s like having a friend right next to you.
