Publisher's summary

An exciting new Western in the style of AH Holt, Alex Cord, and Bruce G. Bennett filled with action, adventure, and plot twists such as GP Hutchinson, Robert Vaughan, and CM Curtis! This is a book that is filled with the bodies of dead bad guys!

Jake Timber encounters a preacher-cum-bounty hunter who has killed the wanted man he was trailing. Quickly, Timber discovers the preacher is more than he claims to be, as together they dispatch the wanted man's brothers who have come to avenge him. Now, instead of one bounty, they have four and decide to split them equally. Together, they take their bounties into the nearest town of Crooked Creek to collect the reward.

During the ride to town, the preacher claims he is only hunting bounties until he has enough money to build a church, but something about the man doesn't sit right with Timber. Upon reaching town, they are drawn into a landgrab scheme involving the local sheriff and his gang of rustlers.

Timber and the preacher become hunted men in Crooked Creek and must work together to keep from becoming two more victims of the crooked sheriff and his gang. The only hope they have of avoiding being killed by the sheriff is to gain the trust and cooperation of the local townsfolk who have, in the past, been reluctant to place themselves at risk.

After a night of quietly killing several of the sheriff's men, Timber and the preacher find a couple of witnesses and some banking records that serve to convince the townsfolk to back Timber and the preacher against the sheriff. In the final showdown, Timber and the preacher lure the sheriff to the town's main square.

It's nonstop action and intrigue. Rustlers and jailbirds, good men against bad men, good versus evil and a surprising ending. Be sure to ride along with Jake Timber as he rides the dusty trail in search of justice for wanted men.

Timber

This is another great book about Timber. In this book Timber teams up with a preacher. Well he claims to be a preacher. They are up against a crooked sheriff and his gang. There is some good gunfights in this book. I like Timber having a partner. The sheriff is dead set on killing them. Ken O'Brien does a good job narrating this book.
