Publisher's Summary

All Stacy Justice wants to do is recover from the bizarre couple of weeks she’s had - the whirlwind kicked off by the fire at her cousin’s bar, the Black Opal. But just when life is settling down, 14-year-old Ivy appears on her doorstep, claiming to be her sister. Ivy insists their mother is in danger and Stacy’s magic is the key to saving her. Sure, Ivy shares Stacy’s fiery hair and green eyes - but is she really her sister? And can the secretive teen be trusted with the family magic?

Then a man turns up dead at the bed-and-breakfast run by Stacy’s grandmother, the family’s Blessed Book goes missing, and it seems someone is out to kill Stacy - again. So she has no choice but to follow Ivy’s lead.

Easy, breezy, beautiful...

That's the phrase that comes to mind when I think of this series. It has a little bit of everything to please everyone. Some romance, action, danger, a little witchcraft, crazy family. This would be a hilarious sit-com (minus the impending doom in each book).

Easy listen

The second book starts off with the ending of the first book which would help if it was a while in between listening to them. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first one. I guess it was because I couldn't get into Ivy's character. I just didn't find her antics that funny for her age. That aside I did enjoy the rest of the characters and did find at least a few funny spots. I really enjoyed finding out who the real guardian was.

Terrible narrator!! Very annoying to listen to...

What disappointed you about Bloodstone?

I like this genre and the story wasn't bad, reading it in my Kindle app was much better than listening to it. I got the entire series before listening to any of it...no way will I be able to tolerate this narrator through the whole series! I'll have to wait until I have time to read them rather than listen to them.

If you’ve listened to books by Barbra Annino before, how does this one compare?

I listened to the first book in this series...equally annoying.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

She was truly awful, monotone, emotionless, and with no inflections. Speed reading in emotionless monotone is VERY annoying!!

What character would you cut from Bloodstone?

The characters were okay, I'd cut the narrator! She is impossible to listen to!!

Loved it.

This was another great story by barbra. I love this series and i know i want to read more. I loved this story as much as the first one. She is dealing with little sister who can't stay out of trouble. A dead man at the B and B who is not dead. Stacy finds out more about herself and her role in the family. Come hang out Stacy and her crazy family.

A little better

#2 is a bit better than the first. Just a light listen. Average. A good book to listen to while doing housework.

A bit of a snooze fest.

If it wasn't for the fact that I need follow up from the 1st story, I wouldn't have bothered.
I'm not sure curiosity is enough to make me spend another credit on the next book.

Decent story, but the narration is AWFUL.

The narration of this book is just so difficult to tolerate. If you have read any of the others in the series, you'll immediately understand that there is no way the voices do justice to the characters. In all honesty it ruins it. Her breathy bedside tone for all females?? I mean come on, these chics are supposed to be badass! When I read the book, the author's humour comes through really nicely and it's an enjoyable read. Listening tho, it's just flat and frivolous and silly. I'm actually confused as to why the author would be ok with it! Geraghty (pronounced Jair-it-ee) is a very common Irish last name as all my fellow Celts out there might know but she insists on pronouncing it like an Italian-American!!! There's no way this could be the author's intention! Could it? Anyway, fun little read, terrible listen. Just get the book.

Love this series!

Stacy justice is a a woman who is still trying to believe in the gifts her family said she has. This book shows her more and gets to some of the true reasons.

Light fluffy & fun

I love how light, fun & easy to listen to this series of books is but if (like me) you can't stand cliffhangers, this series is going to drive you to distraction. I hope the author grows out of it but at this point every book ends with a cliffhanger & so do most of the chapters....
