Twelve days ago a deadly infection spread across the world. Populations have been destroyed. Law and order are gone. Life as it was known has ceased. The infected are now the strongest species, and survival has become brutal.

Heather has survived by hiding. Hiding is her thing. People are bad. What others do to survive is no concern of hers. On a mission for supplies, she makes a decision that not only places her in danger but will change everything she ever knew - or believed in....

Set against the backdrop of The Undead - the UK's best-selling zombie horror postapocalyptic series - Blood on the Floor is a haunting tale of courage and loyalty. Listen as a stand-alone or chronologically between parts 15 and 16!

I want more!

So this book should have been read between the last 2 Undead Series...but I didn't know that. However, I read it after & it still is a great back story for Heather & Paco. Trust me, you love it & it synchronizes great with the Series. Just listen & enjoy!!! ;)

Special Story

Well that was a lovely surprise. This should be read after book/day 15. Her monster. Everything I can say would be a spoiler. But this side story, adds to the whole series.

Performance fantastic - she NAILED it!!!

Any additional comments?

Not only is the story well written and the characters well drawn, the reader,Rachael Hine, gives one of the best performances I have enjoyed on Audible. The dialog is very believable and the reader breathes even more life into the scenes. Her timing, tone and inflection are perfection. This is the story of how Paco McQuire came back from being "killed" in the fight between the Living Army (he was briefly a part of the Army) and the zombies. It details how Heather and Paco came to find one another and build a relationship. I am an addicted fan of The Undead series and this story fits in perfectly to give some background. In my opinion, The Undead by RR Haywood is one of the best I have EVER listened to - he is a super story teller and makes even the most mundane things interesting (such as Heather feeding Paco in this book)

Start at the beginning of The Undead and you will better enjoy the series. Howie abad Dave are the stars, but Paco was one of my favorite supporting players.

Main character whinny and selfish for most of book.

I am huge fan or original British Zombie series and awaiting anxiously next book released. But this main character made me want to walk into book and slap some sense into her and those spoiled ungrateful children they picked up especially the youngest Anna. If it were my child throwing those temper tantrums and putting the whole group at risk. You should have bought muzzle and a spanking she would never forget. I let the book run without me listening last few hours because of everyone except Paco were a butch of whinny selfish individuals, some just more than others.
---love and looking forward to original series, but this spin off series owes me nausea medication.

Awful, Awful book, whinnying from start to finish!!!!!

Avoid this one

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I have read and listened to many post apocalyptic novels; I like this genre but I was not prepared for this one; Beauty and the Beast with toilet training!

What could R. R. Haywood have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Spent more time considering the plot; the conflict scenes are repetitive and in between there are poorly drawn characters and a ridiculous emphasis on personal hygiene.

Would you be willing to try another one of Rachel Hine’s performances?

No, her style of reading is not a style that I like.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Blood on the Floor?

All the references to incontinence , menstruation etc. and some of the flight scenes.

Any additional comments?

I rarely write reviews as I am very time poor but I do want to alert other people to this before they buy it; rubbish!!!

Not a zombie fan, but I tried I really did.

Loved the Extracted books, but not this. Long, annoying boring sections of unnecessary clutter that did not add to the characters and were not even funny. This book and narration did not work for me.

Keep up coming! I love the standalone stories that merge and diverge from the main story! Don't stop, keep my need for answers and futures for these characters coming. I'm well and truly hooked!

Great

I'm a typical book lover who is more used to the rustle and turn of pages as well as reading at my own pace. Was forced to consider audio reading cause of my long boring work nights and the need to be kept awake. This audio not only exceeded expectations but the plot itself was brilliant. I had to forcefully keep myself from listening to it during the day so I could save it for the night. Love love love and now gonna search to see if there's a part 2. 'Love it.

Blood on the floor

Not sure about this book. At times it went on a bit too much. Narrative ok, story ok, but I think ok is all I can give it. I don't think I would buy a second book If there is going to be one.
