Publisher's Summary

The future changes in the blink of an eye... or does it? Miriam is a Saudi princess promised to another, a pawn in a political struggle that could shift the balance of power in the Middle East. Seth is a certified genius with a head full of numbers, a life full of baggage, and an attitude born on the waves of the Pacific. Cultures collide when they find themselves thrown together as fugitives in a high-stakes chase across Southern California. A growing attraction and a search for answers fuel their fight to survive... but with no sleep and a massive manhunt steadily closing in, their chances of surviving any future are razor thin.

Unexpected

A wonderfully narrated and surprising story. At times toward the middle of the book, Seth's gift seemed a little distracting, but it came together. This was a great read, kept me with the headphones on.

The free will of man and the sovereignty of God

This is been a battle for most religions for ages. the author has some fun with this argument giving his own spin on what could be the answer in this interesting work of fiction.
the idea he develops can i think be thought to be derived from C.S. Lewis and his idea given in his book Mere Christianity.

Fast Paced

I really enjoyed this book. The plot moved quickly, the characters were appealing, and the plot was well thought out. I probably wouldn't have even bought this book if it wasn't on sale recently, but for entertainment value, it was well worth the money and my time.

Exciting from the start!

I read this book when it first came out and have since read it five other times. This was the first time listening to it and it gave it a whole new dimension! it's my most favorite book of all times and now to have it on audio is even better! I LOVE Ted Dekker!

Really far fetched, silly.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The idea a genious can see seconds into the future is fine, but it becomes tedious and predictable early on. There is no real mystery here.

What was most disappointing about Ted Dekker???s story?

Once I saw how the hero uses his gift of seeing seconds into the future, I expected glitches to occurr. It just seems lazy, like writing a chase scene for 300 pages where the hero has unlimited funds, intelligence and physical abilities.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Tim Gregory?

Sure, if it was a real mystery or suspense novel.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Frustration and dissappointment.

My least favorite Dekker story

Too preachy about Muslims. Sorry. I like Ted's allegorical and "biblical truth" stories. I kept expecting these characters to break out singing Kumbaya. Blah.

Thoroughly enjoyed

I think this would make a better film than Thr3e. very topical right now with the world scene.
