Publisher's summary

In the high-desert town of Frenchman's Bluff, Idaho, Felicia Kristoffersen has set out to create a future for herself that is better than her painful past. Alone in the world with only her faith to sustain her, she must prove herself as this tiny community's new school teacher. She cannot, must not, fail. But, there are those who never wanted her there to begin with.

Five years after the death of his wife, local merchant Colin Murphy cares about just one thing: raising his daughter, Charity. Colin wants to give her the educational advantages he never had. The new schoolmarm's inexperience doesn't sit well with him, and if this teacher up and marries like the last one did, Charity's heart will be broken once again.

A woman who hasn't known love. A man who lost the love he had. In the midst of the wide, sage-covered plains, each is about to discover that life's bitterest circumstances truly can work together for good.

Solid Audiobook

This is the first of Robin's books that I've ever read/listened to. The story has many commonalities with books by Tamera Alexander and Kim Sawyer. However, Hatcher has her own voice which is gentler and sweeter than Sawyer's and Alexander's. If you're wanting a western-set story with a solid romance and little edginess, this is it. The narrator really added to the enjoyment of the story. I would listen to more of her books based on this one.

awesome narrater... good book...

What made the experience of listening to Belonging the most enjoyable?

Laural Merlington is awesome!!! this is the second book she narrated that i loved!!! the story is good, however, i feel like i have read it before. If not for the fact that this other book had a steamy sex scene, and the teacher faints right off the train, they could be the same book. i was going to give 2 stars for the story but it was really well writen and the fact that it was a love story and not a "lets have sex and then fall in love" story, bumped it up to 4 stars. i can't think of the name of the other book so if anyone knows what book i am talking about let me know... thanks ;-D

Where the Heart Lives

Would you consider the audio edition of Belonging to be better than the print version?

Although I have not read the print version of Belonging, I cannot help but feel the audio version is the absolute best! The narrator,by adjusting her tone for each character, added excitement and enthusiasm to the story.

What other book might you compare Belonging to and why?

I might compare the book Belonging to a series I have thoroughly enjoyed called

What about Laural Merlington’s performance did you like?

I absolutely LOVED the voice of this narrator. It can only be described as genuine and true to each character's personality. Laural Merlington made the story come to life, and I honestly could not stop listening.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Though each chapter had its memorable moments, the moment that particularly moved me was when Felicia decided to take a walk alone to the foothills, just her and her bible at the river. She went there to pray and read, and get closer to God. I could visualize everythng this character described. The book of Mark is where she began to read from. It's something that I will remember most about the book.

Any additional comments?

I would definately recommend this book to anyone who has ever fealt like they were alone or unloved or unwanted. This book reinforces my belief that no matter who you are, where you're from, or what you've done, God always has a plan for your life, and a love for you like no other. He always has the answers and the means to ease your mind and help make your burdens a little lighter.

Delightful Story

Robin Hatcher did it again ! Another book full of romance, excitement and The Lord. I find all her stories uplifting and encouraging to listen to, with enough detail for my imagination to picture what is being told.
I sincerely hope that Mrs. Hatcher continues to write many more books.
