Co-authors and co-narrators Milbre Burch and Gay Ducey are both experienced mothers and internationally known and respected storytellers. Burch and Ducey have mature, maternal voices. They are able to channel the women present in these stories. Some of these mothers work in the margins while others use the main stage. Regardless, each one impacts life the way only mothers can. Some stories bear testament to everyday life, while others are heartbreaking examples of the challenges some mothers face. Burch and Ducey give virtuoso performances here. Their supple voices paint these pictures in small and broad strokes. Both ladies have clear, feminine American accents, but their knack for storytelling is borderless. Listeners will be touched by these culturally diverse stories.
