So... I'm not sure what I just listened to... Persephone Rose is a good narrator, if a bit dramatic, but dang... I mean, he kept my interest, which is why I was able to finish the book, but I can't say as I liked it. Initially, I was intrigued by the premise of a sex diety's "teachings" but I can't say that I understand what I actually got. Kind of felt like satyrical parody of the occult, but I'm not sure if it was supposed to be funny or not... As I write this, I'm still just shaking my head. I get this probably isn't very helpful, but I'm just not sure what else to say about it.

A unique kind of comedy

The ridiculous prophecies and rituals of a sex deity, read like an old world testament but packed full of modern day references and utter nonsense.

Mix of textbook and diary

I've listened to a few of Persephone Roses' narrations; and he's easily the best part of this book. However, the entire book is written like it's half diary/half biblical text; and yet it simply cannot maintain a proper tone in either.

And tbh, for a novel titled 'adventures in sex magick'; you'd expect to actually read anything kinky. It's boring. It's dry. It wasn't worth the time listening to it.

Good Narrator can not save lousy material.

Would you try another book from Seth Cardorra and/or Persephone Rose?

I believe the Narrator is talented and would listen to another performance.

Occult teaching

The book teaches sex magick.
The lessons are hidden in the story.
Not everybody can learn the lessons, some people will only get a funny story

It's entertaining but incredibly misogynist

Look, I'm all for sex magic, and sluttiness, but this dude talks about women who rejected him being divinely punished for sleeping with men who aren't him. He's gross and frankly... as an occultist he's the lazy version of a chaote who likes chaos magic because he thinks it means he doesn't have to do the reading he would if he devoted himself to a specific system of esoterism, instead of meaning you have to do all the reading for all of them.

what a great book I love the narrator in this story easily got hooked into it I can listen to this book time and time again really great action great narrative I'm going to be listening to this book again and again.

I couldn't even get through the first chapter.
it said dick at leat 20 times within the first minute.

This sucked

The title caught my attention. As an Atheist, in general, I like all sorts of books about religion and the occult as almost everything is interesting to some degree, or at least something I’ve not heard of before. This however was pathetic. The description of the book isn’t even anything like it. The author reads the story in an annoying mocking tone the entire time. But to his credit, how could he not? The material is total garbage. Don’t waste your time.
