Publisher's Summary

Part of the West Coast is recovering from a series of devastating earthquakes. This caused a record drop in the stock market, and due to a national debt of 20 trillion dollars, the value of the dollar is on the edge of collapsing.

At the same time, when a civil rights demonstration is hijacked, riots start breaking out across the country.

Our enemies see our weakness and know it's time to take their place as world leaders. Two countries have come up with a way and have set everything into motion to do just that.

Vince and Kim Johnson live on a farm 40-miles to the southeast of Kansas City, Missouri. After serving 17 years in the army, due to an injury, Vince had to take a medical retirement. Now, the most he thinks he must fight is cabin fever. Little does he know that a chain of events is about to take place that will test all his training and skills.

He must also face the ultimate temptation, and not let that temptation consume him.

Both must band together with family, inexperienced friends, plus four of the men Vince served with years earlier, to prepare for and try to survive a time unlike any in our history.

Warning: Contains the adult language commonly used in the military.

This is an apocalyptic/end-times novel the far-left doesn’t want you to listen to, as it shows how their policies and philosophies could push us even faster towards the final Apocalypse.

There are some references to Biblical prophecy as two of the main characters suspect that the events happening could be the beginning of the Tribulation.

There are some, usually those consumed with jealousy and insecurities, that feel very threatened by the feelings of one of the main female characters towards the married leader of the group, and that the wife doesn't react as they would. Sadly, they just can't comprehend the love, trust, and loyalty a close couple and best friends can have with one another.

Apocalypse Buff

I love a good apocalypse/ economical collapse story. Lately, I’ve been searching for a good movie that follows my idea of what a good story should be. To my dismay, most everything is zombies and vampires and not quite what I wanted. I downloaded Audible and got this book as a first choice. I have to say, I feel the most satisfaction after listening to it than I have in a long time with a movie/show.

I give the authors great credit for a satisfying story, especially being their first one. I am on my way to purchase their next novel.

Great book. Made me cry at the end.

Rather remarkable survival story. I'm not really a Christian, so I was glad that the biblical message did not taller over the story.

Unique Story and full of action

What made the experience of listening to Apocalypse Coming the most enjoyable?

I love this story as it's not the same story told over and over again.I have read the Kindle versions and I had to have the Audible versions. Some of the events are the same but the book goes in a completely different direction. I also love it as it is true to life. It's written how the real world is.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I actually got nervous. I laughed aloud and had tears come to my eyes more times that I want to admit. I loved the Carmen story and how Kim had so much love and trust for everyone.

Have you listened to any of Ben Clark’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Ben is a good narrator and very easy to listen to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I almost did. It's also a book you can listen to more than once. I can't wait to buy book two.

Any additional comments?

Besides being entertaining, I learned more from this book and many of the others combined. It has great survival tips and suggestions and it even tells the smart way to set up your own community.
I also love the realism of the faith and beliefs of everyone. Like in real life, all the characters have different beliefs but they all have so much trust and respect for one another, they don't let that get in the way. Outstanding story and book.

This is one of the best I've heard

If you could sum up Apocalypse Coming in three words, what would they be?

a great book!!!!!

What did you like best about this story?

it is different than every other book in this genre. The authors make it to where you feel like you know and care for all the characters.

Have you listened to any of Ben Clark’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He did an outstanding job!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

yes, I caught myself laughing, crying and worrying

Any additional comments?

One of the best I have read and gives great ideas for preparing for emergencies. It has alittle bit of everything for everyone.

Slow start but good pickup

We downloaded this on Audible for a trip. We felt it moved slow in the beginning and almost abandoned it. It began to pick up and was very good after about the first third.

Too mechanical!

I love this story line and listen to all that I can. The story is good but the written speech is too mechanical. Most people speak with some contractions so it doesn’t sound natural. I know you will say I was warned but there was way too much about Vince & Carmen’s “friendship.” The concept did not bother me, to each his own, but it was repeated so much, it’s like they were trying to convince themselves. One last thing, everything was too perfect and all just worked out, life ain’t like that. There needs to be more adversity and some hardship. I haven’t decided if I will listen to the next book yet, Maybe there will be some lessons learned.
