Great performances, mostly mediocre stories

Look, there’s some great stories in here, there really are! But there’s more not-so-great stories. The kind that are 100% predictable if you know anything about Alien(s) from the various movies.

Just about all the performances were good. Nothing stood out in a negative way that I could recall.

Idiotic punishment!

I don't understand why I would get this when I don't like scary stuff, but I guess that I didn't believe that the stories would stand up to the original. Boy was I wrong! I believe my favorite though was the story from the Xenomorph view. These were some very creative writers, but I want the nightmares to stop now. I don't know how I'll be able to get some of these scenes out of my head. Xenomorphic blue moon centipedes...shiver!

A good collection of stories

There are many stories in this collection that are very entertaining and few I really didn't care for. Some of the stories explore the past of many of the characters we have met in the Alien universe, but does not abuse nostalgia of the characters. Though some of the stories do not include the Alien Xenomorph they are interesting and do a good job of telling stories of other creatures that would fall into the Bug Hunt category.

Amazing stories

I loved it. Every story was amazing! This book really expands the alien universe. Amazing.

A couple of interesting stories

A few stories that could have been good if expanded upon but all in all not very good.

Enriches the Aliens universe

There's nothing of great substance in most of these stories except:

Chapter 13 - We find out that aliens are on other LV planets and humans are fighting them which broadens the scope of the human alien war.

Chapter 14- great little story that introduces a new gargantuan worm like lifeform and their species introduction into the alien human war. Their application as a weapon in the expansion of both humanity and the aliens is pretty stellar. Loved the interaction between Angela, the former Marine Commander that led the cave assault, and the Android; "We see evil even in our own kind, beasts lurk inside all of us, yet so does something higher". It is what is higher that really makes us human and separate us from the animal.

Chapter 16 by Jonathan Mayberry was awesome. Loved that he continued the story from the original Alien trilogy giving further closure to Eleanor Ripley's storyline. The story was way too short though. I would have liked to have read a whole book on that one.

Fan fiction

I could not help but feel that I could write better than this, every now and then while listening to this book. I appreciate the enthusiasm of the writers, but it was too much sometimes, not up to a certain standard.

From enjoyable to lackluster and boring.

About half of the stories are engaging and fun, but near the end it feels boring and lackluster and it was a pain to finish all of them as the voice acting got worse and worse and the story lines became abhorrent and feeling like a sixth grader wrote them... And did the Audible to boot.

A Mix of Stories of Aliens

At first I wasn't sure about listening to roughly 15+ short stories about Aliens; most stories were pretty good and I wanted the story to keep going and not end and some were not so good. Same with the narrators, most were good, some not so.

Two thumbs up

A fun and casual read full of great stories from the Alien universe. The last story left me wanting more. Two thumbs up.
