Publisher's Summary

Elizabeth Prescott gets more than she bargained for when she moves to America and pursues her dream of owning a cattle ranch. Leaving her father and the only life she's ever known in England, Elizabeth and her brother, Tom, arrive in Colorado Springs in search of a new beginning.

In A Westward Adventure, author Melissa D. Reedy weaves a tale of adventure, mystery, and love in the Old West. Against the gorgeous backdrop of the Colorado mountains, Elizabeth makes new friends and meets a dashing young cowboy with irresistible blue eyes and an intoxicating smile, who just might win her heart. Join Elizabeth as she buys a ranch, embarks on her first cattle drive, and uncovers past truths that threaten to destroy the life she has begun to build for herself. Hers is truly a westward adventure that all readers will enjoy.

Did I miss something?

Is this book a joke or did I inadvertently buy from the section for children under 10? For the first 5 minutes I though the immature sound of the story was because of the reader but it's mostly because of the childish writing. The author doesn't use a single contraction and it sounds like a kids story, very polite and goody goody. If you prefer books meant for adult or even teen readers, I doubt you'll like this one.

A Westward Adventure

I must say this is the first book I have listened to by Melissa Reedy. The story is wonderful, but I must say the narrator Melissa Madole was very hard to listen to. Her voice to me was so irritating it was like listening to a second grader read. I haven't finished it yet but I will tomorrow but only because I want to know how this book ends.
