Publisher's Summary

It was 1958, and Landon had already dated a girl or two. He even swore that he had once been in love. Certainly the last person in town he thought he'd fall for was Jamie Sullivan, the daughter of the town's Baptist minister. A quiet girl who always carried a Bible with her schoolbooks, Jamie seemed content living in a world apart from other teens. She took care of her widowed father, rescued hurt animals, and helped out at the local orphanage. No boy had ever asked her out. Landon never would have dreamed of it. Then a twist of fate made Jamie his partner for the homecoming dance, and Landon Carter's life would never be the same. Being with Jamie would show him the depths of the human heart and lead him to a decision so stunning it would send him irrevocably on the road to manhood.

A

This is one of the nicest stories that I have ever heard or read. The fact that the author read it made the story more enjoyable. He has a very pleasant, soothing voice. Usually biblical references in books are awkward for me. I am not of the same religious faith, nor am I religious at all. This story touched me in a way that very many others have not. It is not a demanding story on the listener/reader, but causes you to examine the way things happen and why.

A Great Book

I was a little scepticle about getting this book thinking it might be just a boring love story and drag out. Someone told me that it was good, so I decided to give it a shot and as it turns out it was one of the best books I've read (or heard). Great story about the human spirit and how things in life can change you forever. Get this one!!

Not just for chicks...

I don't normally read these love story types of novels... however this was the exception. I got the novel for my wife to listen to and so I kind of previewed it (how does one preview an audio book?). I got hooked, it was one of the best books I have read (heard) in quite a while, and I read a lot of books. Exceptional love story told very well by the author himself. A must have for your collection.

great story

I thought it was a great story. I really enjoyed the narrating. It wasn't a professional narrator, but it really sounded like a man telling the story of his first and only love.

A Walk To Remember

Sparks did an incredible job with this book. Through out the story, he paints a beautiful picture of love, loss, and innocence while showing us two people's happiness, heart aik, and their knoledge of God's love. I cried during this book; I couldn't
put it down.

Great book

I laughed, cried and was not ready for the book to end. Nicholas Sparks has another winner of a book. He never fails to make me think about his writings long after I have read the book.

A Walk To Remember

This is an excellent story. There is a version out there, that I checked out of my local library, that is narrated by Frank Muller. The audio is much better with his narration.

A Tearjerker...

You'll probably need Kleenex during the final chapter or two. I enjoyed this straight forward story of love, family and forgiveness. The bible and its teachings plays an important role in this story. Although the Listener can surmise the ending of this story, it didn't take away from the enjoyment of the story in any way.

The author read this story and I think he did a wonderful job. I recommend if you are looking from a simple, straight forward story that doesn't have too many characters to keep sorted out.

MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE!

Where does A Walk to Remember rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This has been my favorite so far!

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Walk to Remember?

OMG...the entire story was memorable for me. I was so emotional while listening that I had a box of tissues and even had to pause it at times to dry my tears...and I was at work at the time!!!

Have you listened to any of Nicholas Sparks’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I also listen to Safe Haven which is also one of my favorites!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are so many quotes throughout this book that moved me...

Any additional comments?

I would HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone.

I'm going to utter the words I thought I never would

The film was so much better than the book. The film worked on a melodramatic level - the book was just plain sappy and made me slightly nauseous ... It was just a little too formulaic and you could see the twist a mile off ...

Nicholas Sparks does it again

Another master piece. So well written and using Audible brings each word to life. I felt I was right there on the porch.
