Publisher's Summary

Here are two exciting stories featuring Lance Kilkenny by beloved Western writer Louis L'Amour.

In "A Man Called Trent", nester Dick Moffitt lies dead, killed by King Bill Hale's riders. His son Jack and adopted daughter Sally, who witnessed the murder, go for safety to a cabin owned by a man called "Trent" - an alias for Kilkenny, who is seeking to escape his reputation as a gunfighter.

In "The Rider of Lost Creek," Lance Kilkenny is the fastest gun in the West, but once the gunfight is over, he disappears. Some time back, Mort Davis saved Kilkenny's life. Now Davis needs Kilkenny's help with a pair of feuding ranchers taking over his property.

    Story
"Louis L'Amour - A hard act to follow"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes due to the fact that from the very first, the characters are introduced and as the story progresses each feeling is described.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Man Called Trent?

When Trent discovered he was a man of the west with specific values that he would fight for.

Who was the most memorable character of A Man Called Trent and why?

Trent, because he had enough forsight to realize that just being a fast gun wasn't enough. He knew the true gun fighter should stay in the background.

"A couple of my favorite stories From Louis L'Amour"

Two stories of Lance Kilkenny, fast-paced and well read. The only problem is that the stories are presented backwards, with the first story for this set of characters read after the last story.

Two books but are in the wrong order, someone at the producer shop was not paying attention.
Books where good, story teller could have been better.

    Story
"Too pulpy but I stayed the course."

If it'd been any other author I would have been hitting the Audible return key on Trent so fast he would have emerged as a teenager but it was Louis L'Amour. A Man Called Trent was typical of the era and the "pulp fiction" (probably not that improved over the Penny Dreadful) and other popular magazines. I learned to read at age four in 1948 and remember the "True Detectives", "True Romance", and the lurid front covers of the Sci Fi magazines. So with A Man Called Trent, L'Amour was in vogue. Fortunately for us, L'Amour would stay with his writers career and create his wonderful westerns that were so full of historical fact and exciting plots with characters that epitomized the American spirit. A Man was the start and is worth the listen just to follow the development of the western genre by an exceptional talent!

    "great read"

the only problem with this story, the story line is wrong. The story actually starts at chapter 21. which means your hearing the middle and end before the beginning of story.

    "Confusing"

Personally I'm against combining 2 books in one but if you do then you should put them in order so they make more sense. Please make the chapters match the chapters in the written book, and distinguish which book is which

    "Kilkenny - two good stories!"

I've enjoyed Louis L'Amour stories for years. One of my favorite characters has always been Kilkenny. I haven't read Louie for quite some time. I'm listening now and it has brought back good memories. I really enjoy his characters and his stories.
