Publisher's summary

Todd, the youngest of four children, has a developmental disability that keeps him at home on the farm with his mother and father. One special holiday season, Todd hears an ad on the radio from a shelter looking for temporary homes for their dogs during the holiday week. When Todd's parents at last give in to his pleas for this charitable cause, the family is faced with an entire shelter full of dogs needing homes.

Using his special charms and gifts of persuasion, Todd encourages his whole community to help in the "adopt a dog for Christmas program" and, more importantly, teaches his family the true meaning of goodwill.

wonderful book

Perfect Christmas story. I love dogs and so can't stand it when I see any harm come to them, so I avoid storys about them in case something will happen to them. I am so glad I tryed with this book. Perfect story about dogs people and the meaning of Christmas.

A dog named Christmas

While I kept getting mad at the main character for his stupidity, I liked this small town story about dogs. I will look for more stories from this author.

A Lovely Story No Matter the Season

This is a heartwarming tale that will appeal to people of all ages. The main character is relatable, and his approximately twenty-year-old son who is mentally challenged is charming and smart. The narration was fantastic for both characters; particularly, the son. This would be a nice story for a family road trip or for a relaxing listen.
