Publisher's summary

Eve Dallas deals with a homicide - and the holiday season - in the latest from the #1New York Times bestselling author.

Personal trainer Trey Ziegler was in peak physical condition. If you didn't count the kitchen knife in his well-toned chest.

Lieutenant Eve Dallas soon discovers a lineup of women who'd been loved and left by the narcissistic gym rat. While Dallas sorts through the list of Ziegler's enemies, she's also dealing with her Christmas shopping list - plus the guest list for her and her billionaire husband's upcoming holiday bash.

Feeling less than festive, Dallas tries to put aside her distaste for the victim and solve the mystery of his death. There are just a few investigating days left before Christmas, and as New Year's 2061 approaches, this homicide cop is resolved to stop a cold-blooded killer.

One ofthe best.

Where does Festive in Death rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In the Top 10. It seems that the interaction between characters was more developed in this book, compared to the last few books. These interactions are what makes this series so special.

Who was your favorite character and why?

An interesting beginning, utilizing one of the more outrageous characters. Enough said : )

Which character – as performed by Susan Ericksen – was your favorite?

Susan does an Excellent job with all of their voices, some quite unique, which makes each distinctive. I am really very happy that the same narrator is used for all books in this series. Many good books have been ruined by poor narrators, or by using different narrators within a series!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Not applicable for me~ I Always prefer the book version.

Any additional comments?

I've read the entire "In Death" series. This is one of the better efforts. Most definitely worth the credit!

Entertaining

Good book. First one I listened to (Concealed in Death) - I was bored at times. This book was a good listen and I enjoyed the story and the humor too.

Once again you nailed it!

I took my time with this book so that by the time I finished it another one would be available.

The 1st & Last

I started my Dallas&Rourke stories with paperback&hardback books, more than 25 of them, when I could Afford them, and hold them. Since being disabled, I have addes 4 or 5 on Kindle. This will be my only Audible copy until or unless I lose all vision.
THE NARRATION WAS LIKE NAILS ON A BLACKBOARD 35-50% OF THE TIME!!!
The absolute worst was Peabody: she was verbally portrayed as a 70 yr old maiden aunt from one of the 5 boroughs, not a young & bouncy 20something cohabing with her technogeek BF!
This is the first book where the narration has been annoying to me.

Loved it....but

Would you listen to Festive in Death again? Why?

I would probably listen to this audio book again - just to get the characters straight. There seemed to be people popping up everywhere.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Have to love the character of Peabody. She is becoming better and better with each book of the series. It is fun to watch her grow and become an independent character.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had a difficult time with this book. I love the Eve Dallas series and have read all of them. With this book however, I had the feeling the smart mouth remarks were overdone. It was almost as though they took away from the flow of the plot - like interruptions and pauses. Many of them could have been left out and not hurt the flow of the book at all. It almost seemed that they were used merely to add length to the book (and I certainly hope that isn't so). I will still look forward to the next in the series though.

Always ready for the next installment

At this point in the series, the charactors are like your good friends and family.

Perfection

JD Robb's In Death series is one of my all-time favorite book series. She can't write them fast enough for me to read. The character development is spot on. LOVE!!!

Made me cry!

I've read almost all the In Death books and this one made me cry multiple times. Plus I think Susan had a cold while recording this.
