Publisher's Summary

Meet Felicity Merriman, a nine-year-old girl who's as spirited and independent as the American colonies she lives in. In 1774, Felicity's hometown of Williamsburg, Virginia, is buzzing with rumors: will the colonies soon break free from England's rule? Patriots like Felicity's father don't think it's fair to pay taxes to the King of England for things like tea that they buy in America. Loyalists like Felicity's grandfather and her best friend Elizabeth support the king.

With fiercely conflicting loyalties dividing family and friends, something as simple as a cup of tea could change Felicity's world forever. Can she find the courage to stand strong for her own beliefs - even if it might mean losing her best friend?

My Daughter's Favorite American Girl Book

My nine year old daughter has read a few of the American Girl books and plays with the dolls, but wasn't that into them until she read the Felicity stories. She swooned for them, and became an avid reader, which was great because she didn't really like reading before, only doing it for school. Now she has raced through all the Felicity stories, including the mysteries and short story collection. She loves Felicity's devotion to her horse Penny, and likes the humor in the books too. I got the audio to see what all the fuss was about, and found it charming, although clearly aimed at younger readers. I like that it not only gives kids a sense of what life was like in Colonial times, but also gives them some background of the events leading up to the American Revolution. I hope Audible will get more of the American Girl books, including the new "My Adventure with____________" (fill in the blank) series. Meanwhile, we will enjoy the stories that are available. My daughter has decided to read about Molly in World War Two next. I found that was a great set too.

Love felicity

Love this book! It is an inspiring story of a nine-year-old girl living during the American revolution.. I thought it was really stupid and then that stupid hothead apprentice got with everyone he didn't even get whipped or be in for one way and makes ridiculous I don't even think the American revolution was worth it and felicity stealing our grandfathers guitar and only having to go to bed is stupid yes I am pleased with this book yours sincerely very sincerely pig widget

I still love Felicity to this day!

I read and listened to these books when I was 9 and 10. I'm 16 going on 17 and I still love Felicity to this day! I love her independence and vibrancy. I recently reread (listened to) Felicity again and its still as amazing as I remember. Felicity is a great story for 9 year olds to 90 year olds.
