Is Biblical Preaching Doomed to Extinction?

In the Old Testament, God decried the fact that his people were perishing for lack of knowledge about him. The same seems to be occurring today. There is sharing, suggesting, plenty of storytelling, and lots of preaching to felt needs in modern pulpits. But the authoritative, expositional opening of the word of God is becoming scarcer all the time. Jesus told Peter, "Feed my sheep" (John 21:17). Such is the mission for all Christ's shepherds. But when preaching is neglected, those who have been called to feed the sheep do little more than pet them.

In this audiobook, 11 pastors and scholars issue a fervent plea for preachers to preach the word. Here is encouragement for pastors to persevere in their calling and wisdom to guide congregations in holding their shepherds to the biblical standards.

Preach the Word!

This was a great book, very edifying and convicting. each chapter was written by men whose fruit show the working of God, and they give Him all the glory

Great for pastors and leaders in churches

Content was really good. Narration was well done. I recommend for any Christian to read/listen to, especially pastors, teachers, and leaders in the church.

beautiful wisdom

I appreciate this book by the clear and concise way it depicts the way pastor's need to get back to preaching pure unadulterated Gospel..not psychology not a sales pitch to fill seats and certainly not new age that's seems to be slithering into the church. Just give me the whole Gospel. I'm not a pastor but I know what I want to hear... simply the truth, the good bad or ugly, I want to hear God heart what He has to say, through His word...word by word not an opinionated idea by newage seeker friendly SPIN by some slick act.
