Publisher's summary

The first wave of computer malware, known as the Locust Virus, destroyed the American financial system. But the worst is yet to come!

Kate has managed to survive a massive cyber attack that annihilated the US banking system. The societal collapse that followed in the wake of the attack has already claimed the lives of millions, including members of Kate’s own family.

The government has instituted a temporary solution, but another wave of computer viruses has just been found. This time, the malware is targeting America’s power grid. To make matters worse, Kate inadvertently killed the leader of a violent local gang, and there’s a price on her head. Trouble and peril await her at every turn. Plunged into a world ruled by chaos and destruction, her chances of survival aren’t good.

As with all works by Mark Goodwin, this book contains no profanity and no embarrassing sex scenes. However, if you're offended by conservative principles and references to Scripture, this book might not be for you.

Another great book

Most prepper books leave me freaked out. Not Mark’s. I enjoy how he ties in biblical teachings with preparedness skills.

Too much proselytizing

A good post apocalypse story ruined by a writer too obsessed with his religion. The first book in the series had some proselytizing, but without ruining the story. This 2nd book just goes completely over the top and ruins the story with proselytizing.

Wonderful book 2 in Cyber Armageddon series...

Always love the family dynamics, educational components, inspiration, spiritual quotes and thought provoking in all of Author Goodwins books.
Lots of emotion in book 2, but in this situation there would be a lot of emotional trails and tribulations. Looking forward to book 3 in the series...

Lack of Research

This guy from my perspective has no military experience. How he portrays the main antagonist in this book is quite unrealistic. Even if Dean had not seen combat, though highly unlikely, I have never met anyone in the military that even slightly resembles that pompous prick. Also many of the things he could've brought to the community in the book were completely over looked. For instance had he trained the people of the community and they would've been much better off against the gang in the last chapter. The point was brought up that they didn't have much ammo to train with, there is definitely a thing called dry-fire practice, the military has been using this for years to train when supplies are limited. Along with this it is completely illogical to think he would want to attack the community behind them when the gang was a much larger threat. One that should've been attacked not defended against. Over all it seems the author has no military experience and not much respect for them either. I really liked the scenario but this disrespect for the armed forces really made me dislike this book. Not to mention this guy seems to just have a serious love for AKs which as an AR also is off putting since the main female, Kate doesn't seem to understand their functions when attempting to explain their use to the community on the other side of the mountain.

This was an exciting book to listen to. So much truth that is going to probably happen. Glad for the prepper information.

Getting better

Mark’s writing style and skills have improved over his many books. While the technical details have some gaps the overall story is enjoyable. I think Stacey Glemboski does a very good job with the characters.

Good book

This book has less prepper tips than most of Mark’s books but it’s still a good story and will make you stop and think.

The need for God's guidance and friends

I like that there was no cussing with godly principles, good preparedness tips in the realization that we can't do it alone
