Hey guys it feels good to be back. If you follow me on Instagram, you already know why we've been taking such a long break from the podcast. If you don't follow me on Instagram, the cat is out of the bag I am currently 33 weeks pregnant. When this episode was recorded I was 25 weeks pregnant. Ricardo and I talk about how he felt when he found out I was pregnant, we talk about the difficulty of adjusting to pregnancy, and why I haven't been as active on social media.

    May 25 2021

    THE INTERVIEW
    --
The Guerrero in today's episode talks to us about the major impact that his wife has had on his life. The conversation starts by giving us insight into Carlos and Paola's love story.  Just like most love stories, it wasn't always rainbows and butterflies at the beginning. Carlos had to learn how to balance his relationship and family to keep everyone happy. We also get to hear about what the fire academy was like for Carlos and how he managed to make it through paramedic school with a pregnant wife at home. This episode is all about loyalty and resilience. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it!

Hey guys! Thank you for coming back to another episode. In this episode the conversation starts with me discussing my current relationship with alcohol lol and questioning if it has anything to do with my age. I also touch on why I haven't uploaded any new content on my channel and how I've been feeling towards making videos lately. The majority of the conversation talks about how I am choosing to move forward with my recovery and choosing to let go of the idea of weightlosss. It's something new, something different, something uncomfortable but I know it's the right thing.

    THE INTERVIEW
    --
The Guerrera in today's episode is my baby sister who just happens to be 11 years younger than me. This is the second part to her interview so if you haven't listened to her first episode, go check it out! In this episode America talks to us about a sexual assault experience she had to go through in middle school. We discuss what that was like for her, and how it played a role in her eating disorder habits and her relationship with her body. At the end of the episode I chose to ask her some controversial questions in reference to Gen Z and the things that are identifying her generation.

    THE INTERVIEW

The Guerrera in today's episode is my baby sister who just happens to be 11 years younger than me. The story of my family has been told time and time again but it's always interesting to me to hear the different perspectives around the same story. America talks to us about how having her dad be deported to Mexico impacted her family and her youth. Even after her family was reconciled things at home were still a little broken. We get a glimpse into what it was like for a child who understood her fathers alcoholism -- but still prayed every night for God to take his addiction away.

  • Having an Eating Disorder in a Bigger Body : The origin of my eating disorder & my current body image struggles

This is the first episode where you'll be hearing me and Ricardo talk about something that is so prominent in our lives right now -- my eating disorders. For me, it's been hard to realize that having an eating disorder and being in a bigger body is still not accepted in society. I've had a hard time finding content that empowers women who are in a bigger body and working through an eating disorder, especially in my Latinx community. I think a lot of the reason why I still feel like the odd man out is because, personally I am still unlearning the stigma around what body types are considered "acceptable" to have an eating disorder. There isn't a solution to this episode. This is just a real and raw conversation between me, my husband, and my Fearless Friends Club.

    THE INTERVIEW
    --
The Guerrera in today's episode is one of my closes friends who I recently reconnected with right before the pandemic happened. Cynthya came into my life right when I had initially reached out for help with my mental health and my eating disorders. Cynthya and I really connected because we have lots of shared life experiences from the domestic violence at home, to now being an adult that's navigating through an eating disorder. Cynthya talks to us about how she's chosen to break through the generational traumas, how she's doing with her battle with anorexia, and how her traumas have contributed to the way she parents her three year old.
