Acerca de esta escucha
She’s a loose cannon who can grow fangs and fur. Will protecting her found family get her into lethal trouble?
Michigan. Alex Steward dreads losing her temper. Still rootless six years after a brutal attack triggered her latent werewolf genes, the impulsive thirty-something is always ready to run, fearful of the monster inside her. But when her sweet and gentle pal is assaulted on the street, she’s determined to learn why… even though getting involved with the supernatural could send her into a bloody rage.
Frustrated when her best friend starts acting secretive and shutting her out, Alex struggles to make progress on her own. And as she builds tentative connections to the paranormal community, she’s terrified that she’s setting her savage passenger up for a gory killing spree.
Can she find a way to embrace her deadly other self, or is she making a mortal mistake?

Mixed feelings
I have mixed feelings about this book. Overall, the story is interesting with a realistic and well developed world created for the characters. However, I didn't like Alex. Her character is overbearing, short sighted, and abrasive. She constantly oversteps her boundaries as a friend and puts the other characters in dangerous situations. Alex's lack of social skills make her seem controlling and overprotective to the point that her life and needs weren't as important as others. There's a difference between being a strong woman and being short tempered and controlling. The other characters in the book are more likable and fleshed out. Even though I have misgivings about this book, I can see that there is room for potential.
