She’s messing with a destiny that could be the end of her life as she knows it. She wants to heed his advice, truly she does, but there’s just something about the mysterious stranger. And the more she finds out about who he is, the more she thinks she couldn’t leave him alone if she tried.

Good but….

Another shocking story! I loved the relationship build between Ace and Corey! Watching her be weird to him and him enjoying it was fantastic! That ending is just surprising! Not what I was expecting at all! This author can still surprise me after all these books!

The only thing I did not care for was the additive to Ace. I get she is trying to build these monsters and she need new materiel to keep them being so larger than life. Maybe she has some ulterior motive for the future. Anyway still a very solid book.

Getting the best people for the Fastlander Crew

Okay so book 2 was a little less insane trauma and conflict and more world and character building. Gunner and Hallie are interviewing shifters for their new crew and Corey ends up head over heels for Ace, the mysterious and powerful shifter who Gunner wants as his beta.

Corey has been struggling with the growing distance between her and Hallie since Gunner and Hallie moved in together and felt left behind. Unfortunately, Corey is unaware of all the changes that have come with Gunner being the new alpha because Hallie just hasn't had the time to go through it all with her while still supporting Gunner and keeping his bear settled around all the new dominant shifters who are vying for a position in his crew.

Ace's painful past and downright disturbing family issues has kept him from getting too attached to anyone because his biological pride believes he is dead and should they find out otherwise, they'll try to hunt him until he is dead because he's definitely not a normal shifter. The reveal of what exactly Ace is brings a whole new set of powers and problems for the Fastlanders.

So we have two outsiders falling for each other at a time when everything around them is shifting and preparing for an oncoming war that the majority don't find out about until the incident with Lucia that irrevocably changes Hallie and Corey's lives forever.

The Build Up

Ace was the right type of shifter for Corey, she really was high maintenance but not materialistically. I’m loving watching the crew come together. It’s nice listening to the story even if it is virtual voice.

Fell for Ace he was so complex but always in-tune with Cory he was so sweet and attentive thats the word but was all about being her friend and confused with his feeling but his lion knew what he wanted loved him being a vamp another level of his complexity Cory was so lonely they just fit loved loved it girl u never seize to amaze me with ur depth and love can be found
