Publisher's summary

For the woman who's his perfect match, he's willing to break the rules....

The moment Brand Berry meets beautiful, driven Sahara Silver, the connection between them is electric. It's also something he can't pursue. Sahara wants him, sure - to join Body Armor, where his MMA skills, size, and cocky attitude make him perfect for her elite crew of bodyguards. For Sahara, the agency always comes first, and Brand needs more. Yet when she's kidnapped by men searching for her missing brother, he doesn't hesitate.

Somewhere along the way, flirting with Brand for the sake of business turned very personal. Despite his refusal to join Body Armor, it's Brand who steps up when Sahara needs him most. Now there's no more time for games, and no point denying the hunger they both feel. They'll escape together or not at all. But if they survive, can Sahara finally surrender control to claim this blazing passion?

Terrible narrator

Story was good, not her best, but good. Narrator was awful. I almost stopped listening several times.

Exciting, thrilling, another HOT book!

Exciting, thrilling a before you know it is already over and your left wanting more!

Sahara is intimidating, professional and always gets what she wants, except she does not seem to be making any progress on Brand, not professionally and not personally. But when her life dives in to a downward spiral he is there to rescue her, again and again!

Not up to par

I’ve listened to many books by Lori... this narrator was just OK. He managed the voices ok but at times his voice took me right out of the story. Especially when Sahara was frantic or upset.

Another Foster barn-burner!

All I can say is, don’t get complacent or make assumptions while reading this book. The plot twists will get you! I became rather irritated with life interrupting me when I NEEDED to find out what happened next! 😬 I remained somewhat irritated with Sierra’s not being able to let her feminine self shine through (as in the previous books). It took her too long! Thank goodness Brand was there to keep the emotional boat from capsizing. As usual, it all worked out in a very satisfying way in the end. Visits with previous characters were enjoyable as well (but did not preclude this book’s standing alone).

I wish Jim Frangione were still around for Lori; he’s a level above Cendese. Cendese sometimes misses obvious context cues on how to read a line that Frangione would never have missed. He needs to study more before he reads.

All in all, another great story from Lori and a good wrap-up for the series.

An okay story

I didn’t love the narration for this story. Narrator’s lady voice sounds like a tiny old woman (kept picturing the little lady from the Poltergeist movie) or a old lady villain type; very nasally, really ruins the lead female character for me. He uses the same voices for Brand’s (Lead male) mother and aunt too, so it just doesn’t work for the younger lead female. The narrator does have a decent normal narration voice, and the recording quality is good. He just needs to work on his female voice; very weird choice.

Didn’t really care for any of the characters, and the writing style wasn’t my favorite, but the story entertained me. I do really enjoy romance books with action. This book didn’t have much action though, so I was a bit disappointed in that. Still has some fun rescue scenarios going on. Sahara’s brother is presumed dead, so she has taken over his bodyguard for hire business. Sahara’s personality annoyed me right from the beginning; how she wants hot guys for the bodyguards she hires is just one of the ick factors to her. She wants Brand to come work for her, but there’s an attraction, a pull between them, so he’s reluctant to work for her. Plus, she’s very off putting in her approach to get him to work for her. She ends up getting kidnapped because her brother owes some people money, so Brand and the guys who do work for her set out to rescue her. I was starting to like that she has some common sense; she was doing a good job of trying to rescue herself, so I was thinking yay, she has some fight and sass to her. Unfortunately, that sass tips over into obnoxiously independent often times; can’t stand when leads insist on returning home when the kidnappers know where they live. I do like the connection between Brand and Sahara; some sweet moments between them. They have some good spice too. In the end, I liked the story okay, but wasn’t enticed to read the previous or future books in this series; this was my first read by this author, maybe if there’s a good deal on them. Also, I’ll go with an ebook instead of audio.

Horrible narrator

The narrator was so awful that I struggled with finishing the book! His voice for the women was squeaky and irritating! His voice was authentic for the men, but he sound like a man imitating a woman’s voice. Not believable at all! It was hard to listen to the novel! Poor job!

Do not care for this narrator..

Just no.. I did not get past chapter 2. The male attempt at the female character had me delete the audible version
