Fantastic! Fun-tastic! Fawn-tastic!
Far and Yet So Near is the exciting, award-winning third installment in The Adventures of Fawn, and finds the young reindeer and her faithful friends on yet another rescue mission.
All of the adult reindeer suddenly fall under the control of a mysterious stranger, and mindlessly march off towards directions unknown. Fawn and company must trail the reindeer and try to bring them back home again.
After surviving dangers like "Hangnail Pass" and the "Wandering Bridge" the group are led to an underground cavern where they are confronted by the stranger, who intends to steal the reindeer team. Santa and Wajic turn up in the nick of time...and it looks like everyone is safe. But the stranger has a few tricks up his sleeve, and explosions unexpectedly rock the cavern as he makes good his escape. But not before he "reindeer-naps" Fawn. She soon finds herself a pet in an English manor house near London.
Will Fawn ever return to the North Pole and Santa's Village? Will anyone ever be able to find her? Did Santa, Wajic, Doctor Weather, Bunny and the others all perish in the explosions? What will become of Fawn? What will become of Christmas? Listen to Far and Yet So Near to find out!

Al E. Boy has a gift of writing captivating, thought-provoking and eventful adventures for all ages. His characters spring to life and remain with the reader for a long time thanks to the vivid descriptions and flowing action. When I want to take a break from my police procedurals, action-packed thrillers and epic fantasy books filled with all sorts of wizards and creatures, I can always count on Al E. Boy to provide a magical escape.
The audiobook version of Far and Yet So Near is brought to life by the talented narrator Pam Tsujioka. Pam continues to dazzle and delight her listeners with another immersive and entertaining performance. She reads in a soothing cadence and assigns unique voices to all of the main characters in this interesting story. For me, Fawn and her friends are synonymous with Pam.
This entire series is appropriate and recommended for children and parents alike, so, find a comfortable place, stick your AirPods in and enjoy another snowy adventure filled with magical creatures.

Three books into this series, and I both can’t wait to dive in and can’t believe that Fawn has more adventures ahead! I mean this complimentary of course. I didn’t think when I finished the first book that Boy was going to have 4+ books to this series. Which says something about the way each book is written. I’m not left hanging wondering what’s next. Each story has its own unique arc and allows me to enjoy it itself without forcing me to read the next book. So, when I pick up the next book, it’s because I want to not because I have to.
In this one, Fawn is thrown into another adventure and honestly, I can’t talk much about it since the adventure is most of the story. I think the thing I like the most about these books is that even though I know they’re written for children, I’m certainly enjoying them as an adult. Much like a lot of the Disney and especially the Pixar stories that I grew up watching and now watch as an adult. Each one has a lesson for the children and also lessons for the adults. Sometimes they’re the same and sometimes different. This series is no different. I sit here as an adult and feel just as special as I would as a kid after finishing it.
Pam Tsujioka has narrated the other books in this series and stays on to continue with Far and Yet So Near. She does a great job becoming each character and really brings the story to life. Her narration makes an already good story even easier to read.

With Santa, Wajic, and the reindeer believed to be dead, Fawn is at a loss as to what will happen to her or Christmas. Like a true and loving reindeer, Fawn is determined to help her new friends and introduce the man to the meaning of Christmas and love!
Al E. Boy once again captures the imagination of his listeners and holds it from beginning to end in a breath-taking adventure. His story is well developed highlighting thoughts, emotions, and questions that many young adults face daily. Boy shows that forgiveness, kindness, and love can overcome so much and be life-changing. He is a masterful wordsmith as his descriptions bring the characters, plot, and emotions to life.
Pam Tsujoika, the narrator, provides a unique voice and cadence to each character that allows the listener to keep focused and clear on who is who. Her voice is soothing as is her cadence. Her voice is rich in tone and injected with the right amount of emotion.
A delightful audiobook that any age would enjoy thoroughly.
There were no issues with the production or quality of this audiobook. It was well done and crisp.
