Publisher's Summary

What power awaits those who collect the three Runestones of Tritinakh?

With Kodai and the Shinigami tracking their every move, the best guild this side of Porthos takes the ultimate quest, pitting them against shamans, ice goddesses, stinky giants, and dangerous bugbears.

In real world Tokyo, FeeTwix and Sophia arrive to join Ryuk in uncovering the truth of his hallucinations. What they discover is something is a game changer, to say the least.

Even with the discovery, and the possibility of obtaining the Runestones, the Mitherfickers will still need help in defeating the Shinigami. It's time to call in some old friends, and bring a legendary gamer out of retirement.

Fans of Feedback Loop rejoice, and fans of FO too!

I will say a few things about master penman Harmon Cooper. First of all, I am amazed at his writing speed. The dude puts out something like a book a week. Not kidding. I am trying to review all of his amazing works, and the minute I think I am caught up I see two more books have been released. The man is an utter machine. Secondly, all of his stuff is rock solid grade A entertainment. Read the Feedback Loop series, Drachma Killers, or even Cherry Blossom Girls. BTW, those are all on audible, so finish this book, and go get the others! This man knows how to weave a story. He weaves better than a spider slings silk. He can do dramatic moments and fickin' silly ones too. He crushes comedy and advances action scenes like a talented Michael Bay.

Jeff Hays is the premiere voice in narrating today. Cooper can craft a story, and Hays then brings it into life. So, I guess Jeff is like Dr. Frankenstein, because all it takes is a little juice and he is rampaging across the countryside like a monstrous pied piper; you will follow his wake of wondrous wordplay struck in awe at how he manages to illuminate so much of the story. Annie Ellicot has recently joined Soundboothe theater, and has not only been keeping up with Jeff, but is managing to keep him on his toes, she is doing some amazing work and I see huge things in her future.

I'd also like to comment on the cover of the book, these tings always seem to get overlooked, and they are integral to the sales, as it is what catches your eye and makes you want to read the book in the first place. I really like the cover here, the art is slick and looks good, and it also conveys the tone of the book quite fickin' well.

As to the story, we get to see the return of Oric, and Ryuk is still playing duck and cover from Kodai. Hiccup once again steals the entire book from everyone else, and you won't mind in the slightest. I would like to see him toned down in the next book, though. We do need some seriousness every now and again. I will say that Cooper does a great job in not giving away where the plot is going, and the action is stunningly fun and furious (sometimes flatulent). I will say that this book probably has the most tension that the others in this series or even in DK. Cooper is really building suspense and upping the Ante to the Nth degree.

This is not a series that you will want to miss out on, go out and start with Feedback loop and work over to Drachma Killers, and then to Fantasy Online, and by the time you do that Cooper will have written five or six more books in this series and you will have more fun to look forward to than any of us can ask for! Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

I'm hooked on this series

I like the world. Both in game and Tokyo. I love the characters and the rest of the book is filled with action and humor so I'm sold! The narration from Soundbooth Theatre is a work of art as usual.

Great continuation

The story picks up just where last book ended (it damned well better have giving that ending) and it pretty much seems like the 2 could have been a single book cut at the middle.
I'll not mention much else about the story except the the last 2 hours seemed very rushed as if Mr. Cooper was enjoying himself letting the characters write the story as they do best and suddenly realised, well crap, we've been having fun all over, now we gotta hit the ending I had planned ahead of time, time to shift gears. it's not bad... The pace is just very rushed...

As to Mr. Hays, mate, look up rick flair if ever you have to impersonate his woo again :)
Other than that little tidbit which only wrestling fans will really notice, the performance was stock standard for Mr. Hays, which is why it's getting 4 stars... He is just that good that his regular work is above all the rest

I sure hope there are more in the Proxima Universe

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Yep, this is definintely my favorite Proxima universe. I love where the story went with this book. The narration is really good thanks to the incredibly talented Jeff Hays. I sure hope there are more spin-off series from the Proxima world. I'm already missing the Mitherfickers!

Enough with the angry goblin

For the last two books the goblin is always angry. Enough of the one dimensional npc. I'm really questioning if I'll get another novel because I'm really getting tired of hearing his voice. It seems as if the plot goes on hold as we have page after page of stupid rants that almost make me want to delete the story without finishing. I'm glad the goblin has a number of fans in the book world because here in this world I'm at the point of never spending another penny on this series because of him. I hope the author can make a living from book world goblin fans.

Possibly the funniest dialogue I have ever heard.

I love comedy. I love sarcastic, obnoxious characters when written well. I have never laughed so much listening to a book than I did hearing Hiccup and Twixie going on with their shticks. Like most of Harmon's books, the plot is pretty loosely followed. It's more of meandering path that gets there when it gets there. This series is really about characters, and they really shine. My big complaint, MY HUGE COMPLAINT, is that Harmon gives NO indication of which book is which once it's on your phone. Nothing in the title. Nothing in the description (except book 3) and nothing in the introduction. Because of this I started with book 3 and now have little interest in going back to the first two. I might once I'm not so annoyed and have nothing better to listen to.

Another Great Audio for Our Heroes

It's that time and our Mitherficking heroes are on quest mode as they try to gain powerful runestones which could be the key to defeating the Shinigami and Ryuks brother Kodai.
With fan favourites Hiccup doing a masterful performance ( stupendously voiced by Jeff Hays) as he goes full out Goblin and Feetwix does his amazing deals by the bucket load its all on the line as they discover what they have been up against and how they may finally defeat them all.
A wonderful plot and set of characters who keep you on your toes and ears open with many a chuckle along the way and fun fact this is a winner in the series and with some great cameos as well for those more familiar with HCs work. 6 out of 5 stars.

I'd love me some fresh lamb sushi.

There really should be an extra special rating for audiobook which seriously excel in both story content and narrative. I mean SERIOUSLY excel. This book would certainly acquire the special rating.
With a thriller adventure taking place in real life Tokyo and constant battling, backed by his rather unique friends, to obtain the runestones in the virtual world, Ryuk is battling for his life. The story is one of constant excitement and creative imagination exceeded only by the (albeit childish and often crude) humour. The characters are superb, both in creation and development, from the exceedingly egocentric and often revolting (but lovable?) Hiccup, to the fast talking, ever ready with something needed, Feetwix, constantly talking to his fan followers to advertise in the midst of the chaos. Absolutely excellent, and pure Harmon Cooper.

A terrific read which leaps into glorious technicolour with the added narration of the amazing myriad voiced Mr.Jeff Hayes. a one man full cast, his fast paced, pleasant voiced reading also leaps seamlessly from one uniquely voiced character to another, be they male or female, human or goblin or anything in between, breathing full existence into already fabulous characters. The addition of Annie Ellicott as four of the players is another little bonus.

Great hilarious adventures in the LitRPG genre with a phenomenal performance - this book truly deserves that bonus rating. A must read for all S.F./fantasy fans. Sit back and enjoy...
