not his best

i have read most of jm Dalgliesh's books and this is the first one i had to fast forward and speed up to finish. pacing was off, characters weren't at all believable in their actions. i also did not care for the reader, too slow and let's just say i really missed greg patmore. i love the author but this one was a total nope for me.

Gimmiky

Pretty much not believable from start to finish. So unlike JMD. Dalgliesh is one of my favs, and as an artist myself I appreciate him trying his hand at a different kind of story, but this is a miss.

Mystery Thriller

How I love mystery, suspense & thrillers. I’ve been in a book slump lately, but this truly got me out of it.

Kelley is a Doctor who takes a job on a small town in Scotland. Every good super thriller takes place in Scotland, I’m sure of it. Kelley is extremely protective of her daughter Lauren, and will stop at nothing to keep her safe. But will she commit murder?

I thought I figured out the ending, and I was pretty proud that I was half right. But I do love the twists and turns thrown throughout.
