Publisher's Summary
Her cheating husband was murdered and she’s the prime suspect. Proving her innocence is one thing; evading a killer who wants her dead is something else.
Betrayal. Jealousy. Revenge.
Montreal ghostwriter Megan Scott falls under police suspicion when her husband and a female companion are found murdered. In what a Québec detective calls a crime of passion, startling evidence surfaces to also implicate Michael Elliott, a young investigative reporter who’d rather rub elbows with scumbags than live the posh lifestyle he inherited.
Clutched out of her comfort zone, Megan is flung into Michael’s dark world of criminal investigation. As they make a last-ditch attempt to prove their innocence, an elusive enemy closes in and threatens their lives. Who wants them out of the way and why?
Their only path to freedom is to catch the twisted killer before they become the next victims. But not knowing who to trust or where to turn can have consequences that are just as lethal.

Ok’ish But I did finished it
Ok story line. Narrator not fantastic. A few of the voices bordered on being that of a sex fetish phone operator, Jane especially. It was kind of a juvenile script. It didn’t suck but I can’t recommend it to others.

A weak motive for murder
The motive for murder is a bit weak in this compelling mystery, but it's plausible. The romantic attraction between the two main characters is necessary for the story and isn't overdone. There are twists to the plot, but no real surprises. Kelli Tager's performance is outstanding. She gives distinctive and appropriate voices to the characters and handles the accents and French dialog well. Kept me guessing
I love it when a murder mystery keeps me guessing. This one had so many moveable parts that it wasn't until the very end that I could even begin to guess the whodunnit. That was awesome! Megan and Michael were a great team so book two should be just as interesting. I loved the narration too!

False Impressions is an entertaining cozy mystery with engaging characters and an entertaining plot. I read listened to it in one day while running errands and doing chores. Megan and Micheal are realistic characters and their involvement in the crime is plausible. I enjoyed how they went about their investigation and eventually helped to solve the crime. Murder in Montreal
I enjoyed the mix of crime and romantic suspense and the exotic (to me at least) setting of Montreal, Canada. Narrator Kelli Tager did a great job of bringing the characters to life. All are easy to distinguish from one another. Megan and Michael are thrust together as a double murder hits a little too close to home for one of them. You have to listen to find out but there are plenty of twists, turns and even a little romance in this entertaining story to keep you guessing! I received this audiobook free in exchange for an honest review,
