Publisher's Summary
New York Times best-selling author Lynsay Sands welcomes listeners back to the Scottish Highlands, where a gallant warrior vows to protect a beautiful runaway.
Lady Murine Carmichael has known her share of bad luck. But when her debt-ridden half brother tries to sell her off in exchange for a few Scottish horses, it's the final straw. If keeping her freedom means escaping through harsh countryside alone, so be it. She has barely begun her journey when she lands an unlikely escort - the brawny Highlander who just refused to buy her virtue.
Dougall Buchanan was disgusted by Lord Danvries' shameful offer, but Murine tempts him beyond measure. Even bedraggled and dusty, the lass glows with beauty and bravery. Dougall wants to do more than just help her flee. He wants to protect her - with his life and his heart - if she'll only let him. For Murine may be pursued by a powerful foe, but nothing compares to the fiery courage of a Highlander in love.

Good but not great by Lynsay Sands
It's not one of my favorite books by Lynsay Sands. I took some time to be done with it. The characters was a bit boring, Which is a pity, given the storryline is ideal for a realy good book.

Gotta love a good highland story.
Falling For The Highlander by Lynsay Sands (Audiobook) Narrated by: Elle Newlands Series: Highland Brides book 4 4 Stars - Lady Murine was a strong heroine, even when she has a weakness. Dougall was a great match, he cared for her, helped to cure her and stayed by her side. The two had good chemistry and I loved watching them fall in love. Elle Newlands did a wonderful job as narration. ~Paragraphs and Petticoats~

Contrived and Unbelievable
I love Lyndsay Sands however this was not well done, there was what was suppose to be suspense at every corner that was contrived as if there was no real plot. The h faints at the drop of a hat yet thinks nothing of seeing a strange man in the woods all the time, not once but several times and she says nothing. The h well naive to the point of stupidity while the H well nothing interesting about him either. It took 3 weeks to read when normally 2 days, however it just angered me, so I would put the book down or skip through the chapters to get past the contrived plot that was drawn out. There were to many major characters with speaking rolls also.

Pretty boring
The blurb makes it sound really good, but the reality falls far short. I didn't make it through Chapter 3, and it is very rare that I don't finish a book. Maybe it gets better, but spending so much time on the heroine needing to find a place to pee is ridiculous. And already, she has fainted three times. I just couldn't get interested in it. To me, it's a short story full of filler/drivel to plump it up into a book.

Not worth a second read
I've reread the first three at least to go back to.the beginners to see how they start since I know how the end. Helps with a different aspect or view of the books. They're fun reads eith way. This one I don't see that happening. I do like how they brought back previous characters in more than a fleeting moment, except maybe Cam and Jo. Not sure when he popped up in the story at the end, or why. I did like how she still fainted, and all the brothers were worried, but Dougal was convinced she'd kill herself with it. Too many obvious things were ignored. While they did have a sweet story, it was meh compared to the others.

Better than I Thought based on Reviews
Overall, I enjoyed this story - Murine the heroine needed to act on her concerns. Sometimes the story hit a little lull with some repetitiveness - still I enjoyed the story as well as the narrator for the most part. Some reviews were unjust and this story pushed me to the Highlander's Promise, but I ended up liking Falling for A Highlander better.

The series lost its sizzle, but still sweet.
This is book #4 of the series and, to be honest, the pot lost its momentum. By far, Book #2 and Book #3 were phenomenal with their triple threat of good writing, good plot, and good narration so that, when I finished this, I felt like the passion between Murine and Dougal was lacking. Where the others left me screaming "OH MY GOD YOU GOTTA READ THIS!" This one left me shrugging saying,"Eh. It was sweet." I really didn't feel the burn between Murine and Dougal. It wasn't a marriage of convenience, but it sure felt like it.

Not much is happening
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Not really, it was an easy listen, but nothing to recommend.
If you’ve listened to books by Lynsay Sands before, how does this one compare?
My favourite is Loving daylights, of this series An english bride is my favourite and much better.
What does Elle Newlands bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I think I would not have read the whole book, but listening it while doing something else did mean I did finish it after all.
Was Falling for the Highlander worth the listening time?
I listen to books while I am doing stuff arround the house and it is hard to find enough stuff to listen to, so it was ok.
Any additional comments?
There were some strands in the story that where not followed up, which I always find annoying.

I have only listened to two of Lynsay Sands books. But in both books I felt the end needed more work. Other then that it was well written, funny, suspenseful and strong. Well worth the read
