Publisher's summary

What happens when Mr. Slow and Steady finds himself on a collision course with Ms. Full-Speed-Ahead?

The forecast is smooth sailing for Oliver Chancellor, one of Galveston’s premier financier. Destined to take his place in his family’s bank, Chance is content with the future that’s been mapped out for him, right down to his upcoming engagement to a prim debutante.

But when beautiful Aurora St. Claire crosses his path, Chance recklessly plunges into uncharted territory with nothing but his heart to guide him-and a beautiful woman to tempt him.

Propelled by a lifelong dream to buy the island home reportedly haunted by her colorful ancestors, Aurora desperately needs Chance’s help in securing a business loan and she won’t take no for an answer. In the midst of convincing the hesitant blue blood to take a chance on her dream, Aurora awakes his hidden streak of red-hot passion. Before they know it, the mismatched pair are all tangled up in a reckless desire and headed for trouble-trouble in the name of love.

FIX CHAPTER 20!!!!!

Decent story. Light and fluffy summer reading. Somewhat improbable, but light romantic fantasy reading. This is my second time through, so decent enough for a re-listen.

Great narration. Top-notch narrator. Good inflection. Nice grasp of emotions and voices.

CRAP editing. Since the last time I listened was about a year ago, I forgot but sincerely hope this will be fixed by the next time I download it. Thank goodness for Whispersynch.

Chapter 20: (Story is at a critical part where h confronts H. AKA WORST POSSIBLE TIME FOR A SCREW UP)

"I don't understand." Her eyes searched his for answers. He took a breath and let it out in an------

"Pleased to meet you," she said in a low, husky voice. "So, this is Pearl Island.........one of the possible resting places of Jean Le Feat's treasure"-----

"As we grew older, we started doing things on our own because we enjoyed...... Somewhere along the way, it quit being a question and----------

"My father raised me on tales of the pirates.........which is why he named me Jackie"-------

"No, of course not. There's more to it than that," isn't there? The thought stopped him cold. A realization.......which was why kissing her felt so wrong------------

"So, which one of you wants to fill me in on this shindig tomorrow night?....................they'll need a hotel and rental car while we're here"--------

(unintelligible) felt like they were back up on a precipice, but this time, he knew nothing would hold him back. He was ready to take the final step over the edge. "Aurora, (spoiler not going to type)." "What," she whispered as her expression filled with-------------

"That's alright, I'll stay on my ship," Jackie stated....................."Where you live," Adrian frowned, "As in full-time?" Jackie gave him a challenging look. "Do you have a problem with that,"----------------

he smiled gently and cupped her cheek with his palm..................

NOT GOOD.

This isn't on the author or the narrator. This is production. Someone needs to take care of business like a professional. The author and her series should not have to suffer because of production laziness.

Issue Audible needs to fix

I have enjoyed this book and will be listening to the other two books in the series. I just want to let you know there is a little problem with the audio in chapter 20. Some of the audio that appears in a later chapter (28 perhaps) is intermingled with the correct audio. I do not think any of the original text is missing. It just took me a few minutes to figure out what was happening. I originally thought it was audio from Book 3 of the series but then found it as the book was nearing the end.

I thought you might wish to know about the issue in case you are now already aware of it since it might be irritating to other listeners.

Minor glitch in chapter 20

Otherwise it was a cute story. Someone edited scenes from the end into a very important conversation happening between the main characters in chapter 20.

You lost me when Aurora went to the bank

Aurora was so ditzy and childish when she went to the bank I quit listening. I can’t finish the book listening to that

CH 20 Narration blooper!!!

Right in the middle of chapter 20, the narrative cuts from Chance and Aurora to a completely different scene between Adrian and Jackie on a pirate ship. Maybe a different book? The 2 scenes go back and forth a couple of times before resuming on the correct story.
Need to fix! Sort of a spoiler for the next book.

Storyline never went where I thght it would. Nice

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. I really liked the storyline of this book. It weaved in and out with frustrating moments and heartwarming moments. A fun read

What does Eva Kaminsky bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I have listed to Ms Kaminsky before. She does a nice job with all the inflections and different characters

A small glitch

I love this book. There’s a small glitch in Chapter 20. Sounds like a bleed over from another story but hang in there. It’s worth it.
